I had been wanting to visit the Valle location of this restaurant since I visited the San Diego one. I wanted to see if the food was consistently good and it totally was, plus you get that Mexican hospitality! The service in el Valle is always impeccable but our server went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. All the drinks (and we tried a few) were thoroughly enjoyed but the cucumber shot was the best. We had tacos, octopus, tuna tostada, pork belly bites and we couldnât leave without the cart of churros for dessert. The ingredients are fresh, the music is pumping and the views of the Valle are breathtaking. Next time we want to do the helicopter tour that lands right next to the parking. I wouldâve wanted to give it a 5 star but a minor hiccup with the hostess bumped it down to a 4. When we arrived we inquired about the upstairs terrace, the hostess then said that we could sit in the VIP section but that required a minimum consumption of $70 per person. We agreed, we were seated, another party was seated right next to us a few minutes later. Interestingly enough they ordered just 2 plates of food to be shared and only 2 of the 4 people ordered drinks and off they went after less than an hour. It was obvious the $70 minimum was either to try to detract us from the seating or to trick us into consuming more? Not sure but I never like the feeling of being duped, especially because I fit the American tourist profile. Mr. Tempo, if you read this, I hope you check up on your hostesses and seating protocol. I would hate to experience something similar again and affect my permanent impression of your...
Read moreThree stars because when we arrived, we were really famished especially my little nephew. My cousins had been there before and that's why we went. One of the two guys at the very entrance said they were packed and we had to wait more than 45 minutes. One of my cousins insisted to please double check, but instead he suggested that if he gets some money, something could be arranged, and it did! The good thing about this place is the food still keeps the good quality and that before we enter the actual restaurant, we have to go to a tunnel like tent to get sprayed with sanitizing stuff, they check your temperature and sanitize your hands. Until here it was going a little better, when we order, my cousin's husband was the first one to order, then we all did. They brought our food, we were almost done, but my cousin's husband was still waiting for his order! They offered an apology and served some churros with ice cream at the end. When it was time to pay the bill was like being in the USA, I mean, we were in the middle of nowhere mexican territory, why charge so much and what's worst, they almost for e you to pay a tip on their own terms, it's not longer whatever you feel like ir like Korea that they get paid so good that they don't force you to pay a high tip. The guy was kind of rude about it. The manager came and follow us to apologize, but my cousin already paid without complaining even when he waited so long to...
Read moreWhere to begin....had a 5 o'clock reservation and was seated right away at a good table...and we sat for awhile. Unfortunately no server though. We thought they were having the same problems with service that are getting to be common. The table next to us was sat 10 minutes later and greeted immediately and their drinks arrived in short order. Still no server. Finally flagged someone down to see if we were missed. Turns out our server was the one waiting on the table next to us that arrived 10 minutes after us. Drinks started trickling to our table one by one. I received mine 42 minutes after sitting down but ordered an old fashion which required construction at the table. Unfortunately the server wanted to take our food orders before serving my drink. I refused and asked him to please serve my drink. Once served he took our food orders which of course mine was first to arrive in 5 minutes with the last to arrive 20 minutes later. I waited until at least half the table was served before i ate so my tacos were cold and a bit greasy. The kicker to all of this was that the music was so loud you couldn't speak to the person next to you so we sat in silence for most of the night. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of corporate restaurants and the above is the reason why. Enter at...
