When we decided to get married, all that we knew is that we wanted it to be as fun and as painless as possible. We visited multiple venues in Mexico and California, but there was always something missing. That was until we visited Hotel Santuario Diegueño and met Alberto. ||||The first thing you notice about the Hotel is that it is beautiful. From the impressive stairs, the picturesque pool, and the stunning restaurant with its landscape views, there is no shortage of breathtaking scenes. ||||When we arrived at our appointment time to view the venue, a staff member at the front gate recognized our names immediately and radioed to the front desk that we had arrived. We were then greeted by Alberto, the event coordinator for the hotel, who made his way down the impressive staircase and to the parking lot by the time we had parked our car. My immediate impression of Alberto was that he was very professional, but also very relaxed and comfortable. He led us around the various areas of the property, which includes a large event hall, a 26 room hotel, an amazing pool area, and the impressive Asao restaurant (which is open to the public and has a beautiful air conditioned interior, patio seating, a full bar, and amazing landscape views). ||||Before visiting Santuario Diegueño, we had visited several potential wedding venues and we were already putting together a budget for a different venue. However, once we met Alberto and actually visited Santuario Diegueño, we knew it had to be our venue. We cannot speak highly enough of Alberto, who essentially planned our entire wedding for us. From the food (which was delicious) to where everyone should stand for the ceremony, Alberto was there to guide us through it. Anytime we had a question about how anything is usually done at a wedding, he had an answer. When we had a laundry list of different vendors (photo booths, mariachi, DJ, afterparty locations, etc.), Alberto always knew who to ask and got us quotes. ||||In March 2019, we selected Santuario Diegueño as our wedding venue for an August 2019 wedding. Throughout the planning process friends and family always asked us whether we were stressed with all of the wedding planning, but we could honestly answer that no, we weren't stressed at all! Alberto took all the stress out of having a wedding. He was always quick to respond to our questions and eager to help make the process as easy as possible for us.||||The rest of the staff of Santuario Diegueño were also very friendly and incredibly helpful. When all of our guests arrived for the big day, the Hotel staff offered to shuttle everyone from the border to the hotel. When we had a happy hour meet up the night before, the Hotel again offered to shuttle us to and from the restaurant in town. They were always a phone call away to answer any questions as we explored Tecate, Mexico.||||In short, if you are looking for a wedding venue or just an amazing hotel to stay while exploring the wine country in Tecate, Mexico, we cannot recommend Santuario Diegueño enough. Alberto and the rest of the staff made our wedding one for the record books....
Read moreHorrible customer service was staying here for my honeymoon a family came from out of town and his flight left in 2hours asked the guy in the receptionist if he could come in to our room for maximum of 1/2 hours mean while waiting to leave I mentioned he would leave in an hour or 2 max and he mentioned he could only be in the lobby he had mentioned we were the only people staying the night in the hotel of October 11,2020 He said if they wanted to come in we had to get a bigger room or rent another room . Even though I mentioned he would only be coming in for an hour . I think that is ridiculous . We ended up leaving and got a hotel else where . We did not spend the night the next day we went to give the keys back and obviously he new we didn’t spend the night since it was the same guy that had checked us in and didn’t mention anything at all . Horrible service wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone . You can keep my money it’s not worth loosing clients and obviously future ones because I will tell family members and friends my...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here on 5/8/2021, for a quiet romantic night. There wasn't very many people here, which made me a little nervous at first. The staff was very friendly and all interactions were professional. All of the staff were fluent in both Spanish and English. The room was nice, large and clean. The grounds and the hotel are beautiful. I wish our balcony was just a little bigger and more open. We had a couples massage in our room. My wife loved her massage. Mine was terrible. So I would not recommend getting a massage from here. The pool was closed. There was a wedding party that night in the pool area, so we did not get to enjoy it. I do wish this hotel had a bar with dancing. It would have been nice to listen to some music and dance with my wife. But if you want a very quiet get away, this place will not disappoint. I highly recommend and we...
