Stayed at this hotel for a month, filming a movie in town, stayed at other hotels in town, i had to stay here because there was a convention going on and could not stay at nicer hotels, anyways cochroaches and spiders the size of your hand in the room, changed rooms several times and same prob, keep the bathroom window closed to help. Hot water was a gamble, usually had hot water 3 times a week. Food in horrible at the rest, taxis and very easy to get outside on the street, you have to take a taxis to get anywhere, center is several miles away, where all the food is. Only 2 english channels on the tv, you must get a remote from the front desk, its 50/50 if its matches your tv, we lost our cable on a weekend, due to the hotel not paying there bill. Just a bad place, do yourself a favor, stay at the Del Mar, Plaza Campeche, or Ocean View, not much more $$$ but clean rooms and walk to everything. Also the hotel does not have enough towels for the rooms, so they come and geth them out of the room in the am, even if you are not done with them, you get them back around 4pm. Just a dirty place, lots of kids groups stay there, they run around till 3am playing, its smells like urine in the haulways and stairways, there will be food and trash in the hotel, they never ever pick it up, very bizarre, but a dirty place. Take a hint from an American who has travelled here many if times, do not ruin your vacation and stay here..................other than that Campeche is a nice quiet place to go, if you like nightlife, go to Rum or Sole after 10pm, thurs, fri or...
Read moreafter being moved to this hotel due to hurracaine wilma, our group where very pleased not to have been put in a shelter. the place was below standard. the rooms where ok but some rooms had cockroaches inside them. most of the staff where rude and spoke very little english and the food was poor with little selection for childeren. everywhere you looked, you could find loose and bare wires and the floors where very dirty. the private carpark is a plus but we never used it. on the third day of our stay many people in our group came down with illnesses from the food, but mainly from swimming in the pool (which was mainly childeren). the problem of this illness was more of a problem that it should have been as some of the toilets began to stop working. also when it comes to shower you should go early in the morning otherwise is a VERY cold shower. the hotel isn't far from campehe's centre with is good at there is many facilitied such as a cinema, cathedral, shops and some fast food restaurants such as burger king and mcdonalds.|tip: when going to Mexico with mobiles you may find it hard to charge your phone as the current running through the sockets arnt enought...
Read moreCalled this hotel two weeks prior to trip to confirm their listing as PET FRIENDLY. They confirmed YES, we are pet friendly. Made a reservation based on that information. The morning of the same day as arrival, called TWICE AGAIN to confirm reservation and pet friendly. Again, YES, pet friendly. When we reached hotel in Campeche, we called for specific directions and the desk girl had us running all over town for over one hour.......this all after a 7 hour drive to reach the hotel. Then, when we finally found the hotel, we entered with the dogs (2 small) and were told NO PETS! And, the girl at the desk was smoking a cigarette directly in front of the NO SMOKING SIGN. The hotel was DIRTY, the reception was RUDE and completely unhelpful. We had to return to our car and drive 2.5 hours to reach Merida at midnight all because of complete lack of service and misinformation. They would have to PAY ME and I still would...
