We spent 4 nights at the hotel and the place is just fantastic. It's like going back in time and hanging out at your grandparents home. The detail of the facility and the rooms, they have that rustic, sort of modern look that gives you a sense that you are in Mexico. The staff was very professional, friendly, and courteous. The location is excellent, it is a bit on the quiet side, yet, you're only five minutes from the plaza and all that shopping, eating, partying action. Loved our stay and would definitely stay there and, of course, I would recommend your hotel. There were no issues, other than the shower feeling not complete, there is either a matching glass door missing or a shower curtain to keep all the water spray to hit the bathroom floor making it dangerously slippery. Can't wait until you get your dining room in service. Awesome place to stay in San Cristobal de las...

We had a lovely room with a tiny balcony (good to have a smoke, not to sit) at the back of the flowering courtyard, we were brought a heater when the weather turned cold, we had a kettle and a fridge, the shower was roomy, the street was quiet yet conveniently one block from the pedestrian street, shops and markets and restaurants all convenient and close, and most of the week we were there the hotel was empty. Some nights we were the only guests. It's true that Junvay is a bit classier than most places we usually stay. Many travellers we met in SCDC stayed in hostels, ok, I get that, others stayed in more expensive hotels closer to the "cooler" pedestrian street, but for us that street was only a 5-7-minute walk. My suggestion? Be a smart...
Read moreHotel Junvay is an absolutely lovely hotel! Everything was just wonderful! From the modern, large, comfortable rooms to the delicious food at the on-site cafe- we enjoyed it all very much! We had stayed a 2 other hotels in San Cristalbol- not by choice- the road to Comitan had a blackade so we were not able to go to the other parts of Chiapas as we had planned. Having to stay an extended period in San Cristalbol was an enjoyable experience and Hotel Junvay made it even better! It was the best hotel of our stay there! Would definitely recommend Hotel Junvay for a lovely hotel in...
