We reserved a one week stay during New Years time but left after a couple of nights. The rooms are outdated, the service from Patricia, the manager, was below average, but the worst part was that someone from the hotel staff went through our wallets and stole cash while my husband was loading the luggage in the car and I was getting ready inside the bathroom. We know it could only have happened in that timeframe because we had the cash with us the night before as we went to bed and didn’t leave the room until we checked out. ||We met with Patricia and her staff to speak about this as soon as we realized our money was missing but they wouldn’t even consider this as a possibility and insinuated we were lying. We were insulted and didn’t wanted to waste more of our vacation time trying to make Patricia understand that she has a problem with her staff and that this will happen again to future guests (it could be you!). We were certain we were robbed by her staff and as much as we felt violated we knew the money wasn’t going to be restored to us but felt absolutely necessary to go there and talk to her. She did not offer an apology nor any help to look into it and just completely disregarded us. ||If after knowing this part of our experience you still want to know more about the condition of the room we had, here it is:||Even though our room was spacious, it didn’t have any basic maintenance. The shower head in our bathroom was missing. So instead of showering with a spray of water you had the full hose coming at you. While taking a “shower”, inadvertently water was also flowing like a fountain from between the wall and around the neck of the faucet of the bathtub, running all the way to the floor and under the bathroom door into the bedroom. So finishing first shower right after checking in and trying to rest from the trip, we had to deal with the floor of the room being all wet. The toilet was clogged and the flushing system was very slow, you had to stay there pulling the handle down and holding it for a while until the water of the tank emptied. ||The sink was also clogged. ||The pillows in the bed looked like they washed them in a washing machine and the filling became tangled and full of bumps. They had only one pillow case so one could see the pillow inside being lumpy, with no shape. Not a smooth one for sure. ||The mattresses are thin and hard, with basic bed spreads. Nothing special just old looking. ||The room was clean although the sofa had some stains. ||The price of the room does not match what you get. La Pergola is not a fancy place, which we knew, but for the rate we paid we should have had a decent and better maintained...
Read moreA very clean but basic hotel right in the centre of the hotel and restaurant area of Manzanillo. The lobby, gleaming winding staircase, unique ornaments display, well-maintained pool and spotless manicured grounds made our decision a very good one. ||We have often thought about staying at Hotel La Pergola but didn't until this January and we are glad we did. Our three-day stay was comfortable, very cost effective and kept us in the middle of the best restaurant area of the city. The nightly room rate was approximately $66 Canadian per night.||It is quiet although it is located right on the main boulevard of the city and features excellent beds, air conditioning, strong showers with hot water, free wifi, televisions and friendly staff.||It has the La Pergola Restaurant ten steps across the street from the hotel and the food is very good there. We have eaten there several times in the past but did not get a chance to eat there this trip.||Right across the street from Walmart provides the opportunity to walk over for cold wine, beer, snacks, etc. The Pergola restaurant or VIPS chain is right there for morning coffee. ||There is no doubt that we would stay at La Pergola once again if the...
Read moreOverly expensive, low quality hotel. Don't be fooled by the curb appeal as we were. Try this: we have a condo nearby thus hotel and needed a room for extra family for 4 nights within walking distance. Room rate over $100.00. We booked a room at the back of the hotel with the hope it would be quieter as this hotel is on the street. Upon arrival in the evening, our daughter found the AC didn't work , took maintenance 30 minutes to arrive and couldn't fix so they were moved to another room at the front near the street. They climbed into bed and immediately the bed legs broke! Noisy music from a nearby bar until the wee hours. They fixed the ac in the first room the next day and moved them back. Woke up to the housekeepers having a gab session outside. Then on New Years eve, 2 nights later, they came back to the room to find the door wide open at 1 am. No towels or soap in the room. Fortunately their personal items were at our condo. The Neighbouring room looked like it had 7-8 people staying there so a bit suspicious the neighbors " borrowed the towels". These are not new or modernized rooms either. At best a 2...
