Hotel La Abadía Tradicional — Hotel in Guanajuato

Tourists be aware, this hotel doesn't follow standard protocols for checkout, personal items went missing.

I stayed two nights at this hotel and on the final day, I went to get my vehicle from their off-site ( it says online that it's on-site) parking lot, when I got back to my room, room service was servicing the room as if we had checked out. Yes our bags were packed but for whatever reason housekeeping was already cleaning out the room and personal belongings were missing. I complained to the front desk attendant and manager that they shouldn't have entered the room without us and that items were missing. Hotel Staff insisted that I packed it in my bags and to look again, but again couldn't offer an explanation as to why our room was cleared out before we had checked out. At the end I left information so they can contact me to return me my property that was stolen from their site in case it's "found" again.

I stayed at the hotel and overall, everything was great. However, I witnessed something that really rubbed me the wrong way. A woman at the front desk got into a heated argument with another staff member—right there in front of guests. She spoke to her with total disrespect, even told her she should just quit and go sell lemonade or something like that. Honestly, it felt like a clear case of power abuse in the workplace, and they didn’t seem to care that guests were listening.

It was uncomfortable and honestly, pretty embarrassing to witness. If I were the manager, I would’ve let both of them go on the spot and made sure the team was trained on how to behave professionally, especially in front of clients. There’s no place for arrogance or abuse of power in any...

I requested two beds and they gave me one king size for three of us. When I said something they said that it's what I had reserved even tho I showed the receptionist the my reservation thay stated 2 beds, then they wanted to charge me for changing it. I asked for no room service and they still came in and cleaned even after I declined it.
