Mineral de Pozos is quite small and it is a perfect visit to anyone looking for a visit to a not-so-developed (summer 2018) pintoresque town in Mexico. It was a booming mining city at the start of the 20th century, becoming then a ghost town and still has very interesting remains of these activities. Over the last decade some small, boutique hotels have opened in town and Hotel La Villa de Pozos is one of the newest.||It is a jewel. Really. Not only the architecture is extremely nice, updated without losing its charm, but the owners and staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The small underground restaurant (actually it is on a slope but it has that cellar feel...) is good enough, but the staff made all they could to accommodate any special need, such as a special way to prepare our beer drink (it was a hot Saturday afternoon...) to be sure we were happy with our selections. It was the same over breakfast (the basic breakfast was included, we only ordered separate pancakes for one of our kids); the were very nice in checking that our choices were good and what we really wanted and even went out of their way to crank up an espresso machine to prepare a cappuccino. Also, they were very helpful in letting us know where, when and how to visit the different sites, giving us tips and directions.||And the rooms were small but extremely comfortable, with nice details and very good taste in their decoration. We had to book a large, 2 bed room, but we visited other rooms and were quite nice. The rooms are on several floors, accesible via nicely incorporated stairs in the architecture. ||The hotel itself is very beautiful, but bear in mind that the town is very small and rough; parking is on unpaved road (if you have a car it can matter) and the hotel shares the road with rural roads and houses, food stalls and such. It is at the entrance of the town and it is a much more real atmosphere but it is better to know.||In short, very recommended, the owners and staff were amazing with us (a family of 4 with kids 12 and 8). Definitely plan on going back sometime to keep exploring the town's surroundings and have told about this hotel to many of...

Want to have a destination wedding? ........This could be the place. ||||Not a lot to do in town unless you want to build a gorgeous new home in brand new ecologically correct subdivision going in on the outskirts of town, or go to a spa, or look for crystals out in the desert. (I bought a two foot tall crystal in Pozos!) Or visit the largest art school in Central America or wander the hills looking at the ruins of the 1890's deserted mining town. You don't expect to see large elegant homes spotting the desert do you? They're here along with the crumbling village where the workers lived.||||Mineral de Pozos is a town waiting to be discovered. Actually is HAS been discovered and it is only time before it will be different. Enjoy it while the history of the largest Silver mining location in Mexico can still be seen. It is like stepping back in time. ||||The Dogs of Pozos are very sleepy and love the Jardin. I think you'll like it if you're looking for a unique quiet lovely get away. Or come on October 21st and see a Fashion Show of gorgeous Fall/Winter Clothing and Jewelry by a San Miguel fashion designer & jeweler. It will have a Day of the Dead influence and it...
