I'm so shocked to read that other people had a good time at Grand Hotel. My experience was really bad. A week prior staying at Grand Hotel. My family and I had stayed at a AIRB&B. It was the most wonderful experience. Then we came to Grand Hotel 7/29 to 8/7. My biggest mistake ever. My hotel booking was made back in early April 2019 through Expedia. I paid in full(non-refundable). At the time of booking I remember reading other reviews that the hotel was going through remodeling changes. I asked management under( special request section)when booking my room. To please give us a room in top floors and away from construction noise. The building has 24 floors. We were put on the 9th floor in 908. The room next to us was under construction. There was banging on the walls all day long! It seems I was given what I didn't want. I had a side view of the beach. My other full view was of the parking lot. Which was a dumpster ,due to that's where the construction workers were dumping their trash. The bed was so old and wobbly.I found a roach in the bathroom. I asked the front desk to move us to a higher floor. I was denied the request. They wanted me to pay more money. In the past I have stayed at Fiesta Americana, Emporio, and Crowne Plaza for a lot less money. Our stay was always good. Grand Hotel definitely not a good place for us. The pool on the left side was barricaded with wood pieces. Not a pretty sight when you are lounging or swimming. There were people trying to sell us time shares.Heck no! First have a meeting and give the front desk staff a class on customer service. If the customer is uncomfortable. Charging them more money to make them comfortable is not the solution. Never again will I book with Grand Hotel. You lost a family that visits...

Im what you can call a frecuent fligher, or frecuent hoteler if you can call it that way and never do reviews on hotels unless they are really good or really bad. And in this case i do it to advise others to stay away from this hotel.
I cant believe in staying at the same hotel of those good reviews (4.5 points average at the time im writing). I giving 2 stars, 1) because of location and view; and 2) because of the friendly staff.
Te rest is horrible, it looks like it hasnt beeb renovated since the 70's or 80's
The AC never went below 24 -25 C no matter the setting.
The bathroom is disgusting with a blackish thing in between the tiles that i can only imagine as mold.
The water coming out of the shower was brown, they tried to explain the the power went off so the brown watter was from the tanks, i dont know how that helps (as it means the tanks are dirty) but that was their explanation.
There are not enoght electrical conections fot modern devices (laptops, phones, etc)
Its only been 2 nights and i still dont know when the ferry that cleans the coffemaker and bring the new supplies.
The shower was leaking and i had someone come and fix it quicky. Extra star for service, but minus 1 star for being faulty in the first time.
I hope this review...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel during a convention/conference. The staff are very nice and helpful. Our room was nice, clean and the beds comfortable. However, it took a very long time to check in. But, the hotel is old and needs updating. The pools had a lot of dirty marks on them and the paint around main pool was peeling off. The hotel is currently being changed into a Dreams hotel so there were a number of areas that were not open/not accessible. The restaurant is in a great location with view of the bay but the food was terrible (overcooked pasta, wrongly labeled food and the all inclusive menu had little variety dispite appearing to have a lot dishes). In addition drinks were only available for 2 hours each evening which was between 8pm-10pm, not great if you have children who are used to dining and sleeping earlier and would like a drink with your meal. They also charge for sunbeds on the beach which is poor for a hotel advertising itself as a 5 star hotel. I would not visit this hotel again and feel it was not worth the...
