The family who own the hotel seem like nice people. This place is on par with hostel type accommodations & is priced as such. Our room was so small that my husband & I had to play Tetris to move around. A very small dark room with a small window, 2 single beds, which actually weren't bad on the comfort scale. A makeshift shelf was the only place to keep things, including toiletries, as there was no place in the bathroom to put things. We are both tall so our knees were jammed into the wall to use the toilet. We didn't want to use the shower. A shower door is used as the bathroom door. There were 2 outlets in the whole room, a/c or tv had to be unplugged in order to use them. A/C could only be controlled by plugging in & unplugging it, which makes sleeping a challenge, & it was loud, but did help block the sound of the CONSTANT barking all night long from the stray dogs down on the street. We mentioned it when we left & the owner suggested changing rooms, but our room set the scene for the state of the rest of the hotel & we were happy to leave. There's a metalwork shop right next door that is loud in the a.m. & emits odours that are probably not healthy to inhale. The location isn't great, especially if you want to go to the beach. They did have wifi...
Read moreChristian , his lovely wife Evy and their 4 sons along with their great staff made our 2 week stay in Zihuatanejo a very memorable vacation . Our room had 2 very comfortable double beds ( not hard like so many ) and we always had lots of hot water for our showers . Excellent wifi in our room and the lobby. The hotel locked up at 11 pm but there was always someone there to let us in when we arrived late. We felt very safe in the hotel and the neighbourhood . We had a fridge , stove , kitchen sink and dishes in our room but there is also a community fridge , coffee pot and microwave for those with just rooms with no kitchen and there was always plenty of fresh drinking water . The pool is a plunge pool.. great to dip in and cool off . Go to the beach if you want to swim . The hotel is close to numerous great authentic restaurants , salons , pharmacies and stores . It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach . You can't beat the price on these accommodations . Super clean !! I highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget ... fancy hotels are...
Read moreI can't say enough about the kindness and congeniality of the owner, Christian and his family towards me. I was there for 3 weeks and due to mobility issues, was unable to climb to the top floor and the kitchen area. Christian put a small table in my room with coffee maker and a few dishes so I was able to have morning coffee and a bolillo while enjoying the fresh breeze coming into the room. The hotel is super clean, has wifi with an excellent signal and air conditioning. It is in a very safe area on the edge of the centre of town with a grocery store a block away and lots of taco, chicken and seafood eateries close by. The beach is about 3 blocks away and even walking with a cane I was able to get there in less than 15 minutes. I had a very pleasant stay here and am looking forward to returning in late fall. I would also like to mention that this is a very safe hotel and area for single women travellers of all ages. Gracias Christian por...
