Quinta yaaxbe — Hotel in Homún

I chose Quinta Yaaxbe because of the great reviews and lovely photos, and it did not disappoint. I originally booked two nights, but when I arrived, I immediately booked another night, and ended up staying 5! Ingrid and Ever are wonderful hosts and made me feel like family. They are so nice and welcoming. I ate all of my meals at the hotel. The food was healthy, delicious, and affordable. I had fresh fruit for breakfast that was grown on the grounds. I enjoyed meeting Ingrid’s parents as well. The rooms have air conditioning and TV (I didn’t use either), and the WiFi is strong. The bed was comfortable.There’s a beautiful pool, and bikes to borrow for free! I was able to park my car inside the gate which felt very secure. I had issues with my water pressure, and Ingrid and Ever immediately called a plumber, and let me use the shower in another room. I came to Homún for the cenotes and visited 7 while I was there. My favorites were Santa Lucia, Cheel Paak, and Canunchen. Bring water shoes, goggles, and a water proof cover for your phone. The positives are the owners who are friendly and accommodating, strong WiFi and beautiful location, especially at night as the lighting is so lovely. Sadly though, the room was below expectations. The water pressure of the shower was low even by Mexican standards, the room didn't feel clean, no top sheet on the bed and the bed was very small, which made it uncomfortable for the two of us to sleep. They also didn't tell us in advance that they would be doing maintenance works and the smell of the paint was so strong in our room that it made us feel unwell. Amazing stay! I stay there with my mom and we both adored it. Ingrid is an incredible kind host who was very attentive to every detail. Loved the garden, which was impeccable and peaceful.
