While visiting my parents in Mazatlan, we all decided to take a few days to visit Tonala, see the sights and check out the market........Sunday and Thursday are market days, where all the vendors sell their wares........to tourists, shop owners and beach vendors from all around. My folks had stayed at Casa de las Paloma on other occasions and we booked in there for a 3 night stay. It is fantastic! Our rooms were beautiful, clean and truly 'restful'......the decor is tasteful, with calming colors and true Mexican art and artifacts. The staff is friendly, helpful and, in our experience, always smiling. The roof top teraza (patio) is spacious and allows guests to order-in and eat there. The hotel is completely non-smoking, except for an area in a corner of the roof, with flowers, benches and ashtrays. We enjoyed dinner there twice, with the front desk making the calls for us and then bringing it up to us when it arrived. Also, the rates are unbelievably low for such a great...
Read moreMy sister and I just returned from our second trip to Tonala. This property was easy walking distance to the Thursday market vendors. It was surprisingly quiet in our room, which was on the back, non-street side of the hotel. The king size bed was very comfortable. Room was spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All furnishings are very basic, you are in a working class town, so do not expect resort quality furnishings. There is a nice restaurant a short walk away called El Rincon del Sol, we ate dinner and lunch there and I recommend it. It is on 16 de Septiembre. Be aware thst the main road in tonala is under reconstruction and venfor stalls have been moving around to side streets. Expect this activity thru...

We chose this hotel because it was a short walking distance to the Mexican swapmeet, that's held on Sundays, which was awesome. Our location was quiet so we didn't hear much during the night or early hours of the morning. We also enjoyed the Terrance in the rooftop which had an amazing view. Our room was very clean and very spacious. We loved the rustic decor.we would definitely stay again if the...
