Casa Monika — Hotel in Oaxaca

My recent retreat to Casa Monika, balancing vacation and remote work, was an absolute dream come true. This hidden gem proved to be an ideal environment for remote work, offering a blend of comfort, convenience, and breathtaking views.

First and foremost, the open kitchen setup was a game-changer. Stocked with everything one could possibly need, it made meal prep a breeze, allowing me to fuel my workdays with ease. The spacious, immaculately clean rooms provided the perfect sanctuary for focused work sessions, while the stunning terrace on the top floor offered panoramic views of the entire Puerto Escondido landscape, serving as a rejuvenating space for breaks and relaxation.

Safety was never a concern during my stay, as the place boasts top-notch security measures, ensuring peace of mind throughout. Moreover, the people I encountered were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall warmth of the environment. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the superb pool, offering a refreshing respite after a productive day's work.

One of the unique features of this place is the cozy nooks and crannies, such as the hammocks strategically placed around the property, perfect for those seeking alternative workspaces amidst nature. The serene surroundings provided an oasis of tranquility, free from any disturbances, allowing for undisturbed focus and productivity.

Additionally, the option to rent a scooter from the owner, Monika, was a fantastic perk. Her assistance and helpfulness throughout my stay were invaluable, making me feel right at home in this idyllic setting.

My experience at Casa Monika surpassed all expectations. With its blend of convenience, safety, and charm, it's undoubtedly a remote worker's paradise. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I did not exactly stayed at casa monika but i booked it, my experience was not good at all. Just warning you before you book anything, probably a nice place but the owner is not a good person. This is not a review about facilities.

I’ve scheduled my instance ahead of time, my boyfriend had a heart attack and with 3 days in advanced I’ve asked if i could change my arrival dates and Casa Monikas answer was “no, you should’ve let me know with some time” and a refund was not posible either, Im not really able to predict heart attacks but ok, no problem. I was not able to go as things got worst with my boyfriends situation and guess what? Casa Monika charged me more than I pay for my stay for not showing up. What kind of heartless person acts like that? I mean if you are not able to change the dates due to an emergency or refund me, its fine but why would you charge an extra for not showing up while I was at the hospital and at the same time you dont cooperate to even change the dates?

This a place ran by a greedy person who doesn’t care about other but herself. If you believe you could have a setback don’t book Casa Monika, they will do anything to get more money out of you. Cero empathy and rudeness started when I mentioned my boyfriends situation. Is sad to see that these people tried to take advantage of others misery.

How do I put into words my experience at casa monika. It is by far one of the best places I have ever had the pleasure to call home for a short period of time.

Monika has designed this place to be a home and not just your average soulless apartment. It has everything you could possibly need whilst you’re here in Mexico. Including Starlink internet. If you are worried about download speeds look no further!!!!

Monika has even designed an app for your visit which will answer every question you might have and more!!!

Exceptional host that made my time in puerto nothing less than magical. Thanks for all of the tips and advice and creating this perfect piece of paradise within paradise.

Great value for money, perfect location, 5 minutes to the beach and just far enough away from the buzz of la punta to be able to get some sleep at night!
