Hotel posada abril — Hotel in Oaxaca

This hotel isn't bad, it's just basic.

The good: clean, bed is comfortable and large [king room], ac is good. The staff is lovely. Coathangers. Excellent location steps from the beach and restaurants

The not so good: no safe/refrigerator/ ice/blanket or bedspread. There are only 2 overhead lights and they are fluorescent. No lamp. No counter or shelf space in bathroom, so my toiletries are on the floor. No hairdryer, even at front desk. No exhaust fan in bath. Rooms are centered around pool which is very loud. One not very secure lock with actual key. Wifi did not work at all for me the entire time. I was connected, but couldn't do anything.

Thankfully I have some limited Spanish speaking skills, because nobody here speaks any English AT ALL. Also, television is Spanish only. No big deal for me, but in case that's important to you.

There was a problem with my check-in. I used Booking and for some reason they didn't have my reservation. Took 30 minutes to resolve when I arrived. Flor was very helpful, but I had to navigate that 30 minutes in Spanish and hand gestures, so just be aware!

Nice little hotel right on bahia, well one of the 7, nice basic, clean,comfortable and right next to a public parking and a two minute walk to the public beach. There is a bit of hassle for people trying to get you to buy from them, they represent the restaurants in front and tables belong to them, you cannot sit there if you are not going to consume from the restaurants, otherwise you will have to sit at the beach, nothing wrong with that. Lots of people come at the end of the day...

I just left this hotel because they are housing fighting roosters in one of the rooms. After lying, and trying to blame it on the 80 year old neighbor, they finally admitted that the roosters would be gone before night time. That makes me feel SO much better. I guess the big fight is tonight.||For $60.00 USD (1200 MXN), you can find cheaper hotels that don't support cockfighting by housing the roosters, then lying to your face when you question...
