Oro Negro — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Stopped in for a things like the Calzone which I had yet to have a great one in Mexico. Might have been a place in Lomas Puebla which I liked but this one was better. I wanted some veggies so I ordered the chef salad and Camile my server made and brought out an enormous bowl of the freshest ingredients you could hope to find in a tourist town restaurant. It has been popular with the local meixcnas as well as tourists and immigrants for a while. Years. I went over and took photos of my calzobe in the back dome oven at the rear of the seating area on the side. Friendly younger man and he put up with my spanking with smiles. The place starts grtting busy around 16:30 everyday they are open and it is non stop from then. If you like to est and read or write some notes as you make your way through to the cheescake then go 1 hour after they open and enjoy. Camila will lower the awnings for you so your not baking in the late afternoon sun and I recommend the table I had to the right of the door and at the front street entrance.

This lovely quaint spot is top notch! The food is delicious tasting, appetizingly presented and the staff bend over backwards to keep everyone happy! Such a humbling experience to witness how hard these fellows work to please customers. I was grateful for the experience to witness this and to share a meal with my partner that was far beyond expectation! I love the people of Mexico and appreciate being here to experience their heart! We kept walking by this place and always noticed a lineup, so we eventually decided to check it out one night for dinner. We had one of their white sauce pizzas and it was amazing! I would highly recommend. We had to wait a bit (they were busy) but we barely noticed because the atmosphere is so nice.
