Frente Al Mar — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Llegue a este lugar por recomendación- por ser el restaurant de Sara. Lleguemos a celebrar un cumpleaños y pasarla bien. Al momento de asignarnos asientos, todo bien y amables. Después de esperar 15 minutos para que tomaran nuestra orden, nos dimos cuenta que a otros cliente, extranjeros y con piel no morena, fueron atendidos con más rapidez y carisma. Yo pedí unos camarones empanizados, como ven en la imagen. Estaba demasiadamente salados (y me gusta la sal). Se lo comenté al mesero y su respuesta me ofendió. “Son camarones Del Mar, por eso están más salados” 😑 Es enserio lo me que dijo? Para beber pedí una cerveza, y después un mojito. El mojito sabia más a limonada que a un mojito. Le pedí al mesero que me la arreglara. Ambas veces se tardo más de 20 minutos para traer la bebida. Regreso con la misma copa, pero ahora el mojito sabía a alcohol. Le pedí que me lo cancelara y que prefería una Coca-Cola. Durante nuestro tiempo ahí, si nos dimos cuenta que atendían mejores a otros clientes. No recomiendo este establecimiento. Lamentablemente tiene buena ubicación. Ahora en inglés, porque si no lo hablas te dan mal servicio también. Procura no hablar zapoteco porque te tratan como si no tuvieras un peso.

I was here this past weekend and I still could not wrap my mind around what had happened. If you are white and abroad, I’m sure this would not happen to you here. I am was here with family friends celebrating a birthday. Waiters took three times the time to serve us or come around. Perhaps because they assumed we would not tip well. The difference was well noted between our table the that of our tourist friends. Food was horribly salty, frozen veggies, terrible mojitos. Servers would take large amounts of time to bring food and drinks. Lame excuses as to why the shrimp was salty like, “because these shrimps are from the sea” I don’t recommend this place. Some staff need to take lessons on...

We had breakfast today which was good. Drank beer all day and decided to stay for dinner. BIG mistake. I ordered a shrimp skewer which was cold, the rice was cold and the meal was garbage. My wife ordered fillet of fish with rice and salad. The fish was cold the rice was cold and again the meal was garbage. We have been coming here for 7 years and this was by far the worst meal we have ever had in Huatulco. Do not eat dinner here We do not blame our waiter Jose, who serves us every time we go to the Santa Cruz beach but we told him that we will never order dinner...

Very nice place. Alex our waiter is always friendly and helpful. Today I had the pasta marinara. Spaghetti with seafood. Excellent. Today we sat "inside " just to get completely out of the sun. Nice change from our usual table...
