Our overall experience was about average.
We stayed two nights in an en-suite room by the road which was expensive for what it is and dark and loud. Our final night was in a cabaña, which was 200 pesos more and a dramatic upgrade. It is not worth going for the cheaper rooms at this place. The cabaña was stunning.
On arrival they hadn't done well to show us the options.
Be aware extra wood costs 200 pesos and you have to pay straight away or they lose their patience with you. We decided to leave the wood for the next guest as for that money we can get an hour's private Spanish tuition. One of the kids in charge of reception put up a big strop and were very unprofessional when we decided not to go for extra wood, which was quite upsetting and somewhat ruined our final evening. This was a real shame. They continued their hostility in the morning even after apologising and explaining that we decided that we hadn't needed any more wood.
Generally the food is average and lacks taste, especially the soups. It is also overpriced. However, breakfast is good.
The grandfather Leo and grandmother are incredibly kind and helpful, but unfortunately the service is lacking in the younger generations where there are little to no smiles and no interest in what they are doing.
Nice balcony and restaurant atmosphere, but it was pretty empty and people clearly have found nicer options.
This family business seems to be very money orientated and it's a bit of a shame, especially when they know you are tripping on some shrooms, they try to empty your purse...
They definitely can learn something about customer service and friendliness at reception.
The hotel has some great areas, but nowhere to relax or chill in a communal area. The only area to relax is the...
Read moreWe stayed in the cheapest room. 1 double bed and 1 single, shared bathroom and toilet. To be very honest, it wasn't that great.
Of course, we don't expect a lot of luxury and we are ok with that! But this just wasn't it.
The toilet and shower are pretty dirty. Also the bed was dirty, there were little spots and crumbs in the bed and the room had a funny smell. The bedsheeds were ripped and obviously very old. The owner spies on the guests all the time. You have no space to sit in privacy other than inside your room. If you decide to sit outside and enjoy the view, the owner will keep watching you. He even walks by when you sit in front of your place to (I think) check on you? I think this is way too much and made me even feel like he doesn't trust his guests. We were just playing a card game and drinking water, so no reason to act so suspicious.
Don't expect them to help you to find mushrooms. They do sell other stuff that if very strong. The people working there are ok. The wifi is only available in the restaurant, not in the rooms.
Overall, it's an ok place. Dirty and old, no privacy. I suggest you go...
Read moreBeautiful room however we paid 950 for a private room, private bathroom and all the amenities. This was the most expensive room available. This night there was a power cut so we were unable to use any of the facilities except the bed they were unwilling to listen to us when we asked if we could have any money back and would keep walking away from us.
In the end they paid us 200 pesos back of our original price but only after we sat adamantly that this was unfair.
Nice place if they weren’t rude but it is beautiful just visit when...
