Hotel La Purificadora — Hotel in Puebla

Avoid, better options for a comparable rate!

My recent stay at the hotel was horrible and I continued to encounter issues despite being moved to another room. I like staying at design hotels because they restore the historical structures and usually provide better services. However, la Purificadora is poorly managed and repetitive problems throughout ruined the experience.

The first room was really nice and I was looking forward to relaxing. However, the a/c unit was pouring water onto the floor and there was a pool of water on the floor. The a/c was directly over the closet and one of my bags got wet, luckily I laid my clothes on the chairs. The windows are not sound proof and loud music was playing from the bar next door throughout the night.

The second room was smaller with no terrace, which I did not care if it was quiet. However, they were doing construction at 7 am on Sunday morning and woke me up. In addition, the shower head was not properly placed and sprayed everywhere. The shower floor also flooded and water ran into the common room. The front desk indicated that they will send someone, but they only fixed the shower head.

I made a few complaints at the front desk, but management never got back to me. I have videos and photos, but I am unable to share in this correspondence. Overall, many of the issues I have encountered were due to a lack of effective management throughout the property. The restaurant was also all over the place and there was a lack of organization to ensure people are greeted as they walk in and seated, it was a free for all.

Needless to say my vacation was ruined. I was unable to rest and returned feeling exhausted from my stay due to the accommodations. The cleaning and service staff were great, but management needs to step up to ensure maintenance of the property!

La Purificadora had extremely loud noise from pre wedding parties and the bar across the street. I’m not exaggerating - I’m 30 years old and normally a deep sleeper but this was really bad due to poor noise insulation in the rooms. Even asked to switch and both rooms were sooo loud. No wifi. Unfortunately was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced.

I could hear the glasses from the wedding party downstairs clinking. Couldn’t fall asleep till 3am. Horrible. Manager would not reimburse my points, which I used to book for the weekend, even though I had to leave after one night to another hotel bc I simply couldn’t sleep and I have lifetime gold status. :( Really sucked because I had a horrible migraine and their solution was that I should go out until the wedding party was over at 11pm. I didn’t pay for a hotel room starting at 11pm; check in is at 3pm. I wanted to rest in my room and order room service but that wasn’t possible here. Honestly feels greedy that they expect to make money off a party without any regard for other guests like myself. They should reserve the whole hotel for the party guests in that case.

Also, no wifi and poor cell reception in the room, so I had no way to communicate with...

We were excited to stay at La Purificadora, until about 1 hour into our arrival.|First, we arrived around 6pm (after a long travel day), so we went to the lobby restaurant for dinner. No one was there, but there were so many BIG mosquitos! We asked the front desk if they had a mosquito ring to keep them away - NO. So I went to our room and got OFF spray. That mitigated that issue.|Then, after returning to our room to get ready for a nice sleep, the toilet stopped flushing. We decided to deal with it the next morning. Staff fixed it, it broke again and again and again. Finally on day 3, it was fixed.|Another issue was the room AC. It was loud like a train and could not get to a temp to turn off and idle. Instead, it just blew - loudly. So we were either hot / stuffy or had to listen to the loud fan.|And then one afternoon, a gentleman unlocked our door - even though were were saying "hola" and almost walked in. We were on our computers working. I sent front desk a message, and they told me that he was doing a room clean inspection. Our "do not disturb" sign was on the door. Not cool.|Staff did not seem very experienced.|It was just one thing after the other.|I would never stay there...
