Valhalla Residences — Hotel in Quintana Roo

Upon arrival we were greeted by Antonietta. She was extremely nice, patient, and wonderful throughout the whole stay. She made sure we had towels for the beach, and clean white towels throughout our stay and answered any questions we had.

The hotel is rather new and found in the Riviera Tulum “gated community” (it’s just controlled access).

The rooms are amazing. The living room and two rooms all had ceiling fans with a central a/c unit that did a fantastic job at keeping the whole place cool. The beds are comfortable and the rooms had plenty of lighting as well as curtains to cover all the windows up.

The kitchen is also very great with many amenities. The sink has a water purification system that was able to provide drinkable water (we drank it and were just fine). There are plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses, knives, forks, and spoons provided. The hotel included a fridge with an ice maker, electric stove top, coffee machine, and a mini grill. They did not have a microwave in our kitchen but there was one at the commons area upstairs.

The bathrooms had body wash and shampoo (in which we only used the body wash after running out of soap) and hot/cold water. Bathroom was extremely nice as well.

The only thing I would slightly improve would be the “blankets”. We were sunburned and they were rough to sleep with. It isn’t a huge deal though. Still comfortable and amazing place!!

Another thing to note is that you are a little ways from downtown Tulum which may be an issue to some. We had a car and were able to get to downtown in around 7-10 minutes.

This property was such an amazing find! Everything was fantastic in every way possible and we didn’t want to leave! ||Antoinetta who manages this place is such a sweet soul and she truly made our stay delightful! We felt like we were at home and cannot recommend this place enough.||The place is in a safe gated community away from the noise of Tulum. You will need a bicycle or scooter to get to this property however it is no more than 10 minutes to get anywhere you need to go. ||They have filtered water out of the tap, Netflix and a fully functional kitchen. After have been travelling on the road for four months we loved cooking for ourselves at Valhalla. Make sure to do your shopping at Selecto Chedraui as they have all the food you should need.||Last but not least the pool is fantastic as well as the rooftop. The sun stops hitting the pool around 3:30pm so we always scooted upstairs to enjoy the last hours while watching the sun go down!...

A real top accommodation.

We stayed in various hotels, Airbnbs, etc. on our trip. We have spent exclusively in 4/5 star accommodations. We had already resigned ourselves to the fact that we would not find European hygiene standards in México. However, in "Valhalla Residence by Biwa" it was a surprise. It is rather one of the cheap accommodations we booked, but it was by far the cleanest, most attentive and bottom line best.

This accommodation offers perks that we often wished we had. There is salt/pepper/oil, dishwashing liquid/sponge/mirkos fiber cloth, etc.

Plus a drinking water treatment plant, which we have not had in any other lodging anywhere in Mexico.
