Ramada Encore by Wyndham San Luis Potosi — Hotel in San Luis Potosí

New hotel so everything works right with a few exceptions noted below. The bathroom is nice but the shower is enclosed in glass doors that run all the way to the ceiling. This would not be so bad if there was a vent in the shower but there isn't. So it gets very steamy and hard to see or even breath after only a few minutes. The rest of the hotel room is nice.

The two other cons I have are that the wifi is very very slow. At best 5Mbps but mostly under 1. Basically it makes it impossible to do much work. In reality the internet through out Mexico is very slow they need to invest in fiber-optic. The other smaller issue is that the TV had plenty of channels but only one is in English. From the use of English in there hotel I think they are trying to draw in American business men and if that is the case they really need to add more English channels to the line up.

The bar and restaurant is OK not great but ok much less selection compared to other hotels I have been at but acceptable.

The worst part of the whole trip was that I called and asked the hotel to have a driver pick me up from the airport and he never came. Luckily the people I was there to see were on the same flight and they were renting a car. For this reason I doubt I...

The location itself is really good, great for business stays because it's close to the industrial area and the rooms are good in size. But that's basically it, no fridge on the room to hold your drinking cold and in my case the chocolate too. The restaurant has a good variety of food and drinkings but the waitresses need a long time to get to you if it's a little busy, I mean I was sitting there sometimes for more then 30 min to get the menu or Bill even after multiple times asking and they forget more then once my order. And the meal itself is sometimes bad made too, noodles to soft as example or you even just don't get what you ordered. And lastly the Internet quality is just terrible, I don't know how good it is while I am at work but in the evening I can't attend to my online class well and the connection even breaks sometimes. For YouTube and so on its mostly ok to watch on 720p but again live streams are not possible to watch over 480p which is in my opinion the bare minimum. And sometimes you have the whole Sunday no Internet at all because why you should have it on your only free day in the week. This a very modern hotel with friendly staff that help you with anything you wanted in a very polite manner. The employees however only know Spanish as far as I've seen and unless you have some sort of translator or already know spanish it will be difficult to communicate with them. The rooms have different illustrations of cartoon people and are otherwise bare with plenty of matte bare colors with red being the most featured. The elevators are nice and the swimming pool is located on the 2nd floor and is a great place to relax, though I didn't go swim, and has a jacuzzi in the same room. The gym is on the same floor but it is rather warm inside with no clear way to lower the temperature. Breakfast is possibly one of the best I've had with everything to pre made waffles and cereal bowls with plenty of bacon and eggs and well cooked breakfast meats and a selection of Apple & Orange juice and coffee or different flavors of tea.
