Hôtel La Perla — Hotel in Al Hoceima

I just finished a two day stay in this multi-story hotel in Al Hoceima on the northern coast of Morocco. It is a three star hotel nicely located in the middle of downtown Al Hoceima. It has about 30 rooms. The rooms are on the small side, but are clean as are the bathrooms. The restaurant was more than acceptable specializing in local fish dishes. The local calamari was excellent. The service in the hotel and the restaurant was also excellent. The hotel offers free internet in the rooms (with a cable they provide) or free WIFI in the lobby/reception area. The internet worked very well. There was plenty of hot water in the showers and the wall mounted air conditioner/heater worked well. Since the hotel is in the middle of town, and across the street from a small soccer stadium, it can be noisy at times. I didn't notice it as much as my colleagues did (and my room faced the street). There is very little choice in Al Hoceima and this hotel is perfectly suitable. Parking was available in front of the hotel on the street and a parking attendant was present to watch the cars at night. The hotel is also very convenient to the port which is only about five...

Terrible policy for breakfasts: You cannot choose what to eat. I one week you take with you the leftovers, the other week you can't, that makes 0 sense because you pay for your breakfast and it is not a buffet. If it was a buffet it makes all sense you cannot take with you! But I guess they want to sell the untouched leftovers(not very hygienic)!

Rooms: The shower had rust, and in general the room was clean but very poor maintained.

Conclusion: It's my 4th time here and unfortunately it will be my last. The prices are going up but the maintenance and breakfast are going way down.

You have to improve over time, or else you will lose good customers for other hotels...
