Our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teens) stayed here for 3 nights, & it was INCREDIBLE!! When I initially contacted Said & told him I'd like to book 3 nights, he was upfront with me & recommended just 2 nights because it would be very hot. The fact that he cared more about our experience than booking more nights told me that we had found a trustworthy company. We did book 3 nights, & Said worked with me to craft a custom itinerary for not only our time at the camp, but also for the drive from Fez & to Marrakech. Including the drives, we spent 6 days with Moonlight Desert Camp. Our time was filled with excursions, including riding camels, driving ATVs, visiting oasis gardens, exploring different forms of irrigation, attending traditional music experiences, & even visiting a women's yarn collective after learning that I knit! At a market, I was even able to help shear a sheep! My 2 teen sons had a blast not only on the camel & ATV rides, but also simply rolling down the sand dunes. Truly, the experiences we had with Moonlight Desert Camp exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was delicious & they accommodated the vegetarian diets of 2 of our family. The campfires, music, & tea in the desert evenings were the perfect end to our days. The tents were spacious, comfortable, & the quad (1 double bed & 2 twins) fit our needs perfectly. As Said warned, it did get warm in the tent, especially our first night when there was a sandstorm & we kept the windows closed to keep out the sand, but the discomfort was well worth the experience. It was very luxurious to have toilets & showers in the tent. Our guide, Mahjoub, was incredible! He was friendly, knowledgeable, & open to our preferences, yet willing to make suggestions. Mahjoub even took us to meet his family & we experienced a home cooked traditional meal. I can't stress enough how fantastic Mahjoub was, & a large part of why our experience was so memorable & incredible was because of him. I whole-heartedly, without reservation, recommend Moonlight Desert Camp for anyone who wants a personalized, once in a lifetime experience in the...

We traveled through Morocco for 22 days. A camel ride into the Sahara Desert and an overnight stay in the desert were on the top of our list and highly anticipated. We wanted to stay in small and highly rated camp at the eastside of the Erg Chebbi desert. After tediously checking all the camps in the area, Moonlight Desert Camp checked the boxes. It also seems to be the only camp in the whole Erg Chebbi desert where the tents have awnings. A very nice touch, with lights hanging from the awnings. The camp is a family owned and managed. Camp manager Said reached out to us over WhatsApp with final instructions. We agreed to meet with Said at a kasbah, where we parked our rental car. From there, Said took us in his pickup truck to a point where two camels were waiting for us. The camel ride to the camp was an hour and twenty minutes. The camel trip, at sunset, through the sand dunes was absolutely stunning! Despite the fact that we were sharing the desert with some motor bikes and ATV’s, it was mostly dead silent in the desert. The name of the camp is Moonlight Desert Camp. Very fitting, as the moon was right above our camp when we arrived at the campsite. The camp was really magnificent. It consists of 6 tents for guests, a restaurant tent and a couple of tents for kitchen and utilities. The camp’s water comes from a well, and the electricity comes from solar panels. All the lights are energy efficient LED lights. The tents have full-sized beds, a toilet and a shower (with solar heated hot water). Said is an awesome host. He welcomed every guest personally by name and checked at night as well as in the morning if everything was good. Which it was! As usual, we were welcomed with Moroccan mint tea. Next was a 5-course dinner: pumpkin soup, rice with I-don’t-know-what-kind-of-sauce and roasted cauliflower, eggplant with cheese tajine, lemon chicken tajine, and flan as desert. Everything tasted excellent! After dinner, the staff showed off their musical talents at a camp fire. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful...

The highest recommendation for Morocco Countryside Tours and Moonlight Desert Camp! As a former Morocco resident, I understand much of the language and culture, what’s true hospitality vs what’s hustling, etc. MCT is the real deal. Berber hospitality and service at its absolute finest!

Since we were traveling in the summer, which tends to be lower demand for the desert trip with the heat, both Ismail and Said met us at the desert in the desert camp (Moonlight Desert Camp) that evening after trekking on camels (named ojos and bob marley) with a guide across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here the most beautiful deluxe desert bivouac awaited us. Complete with 2 delicious tajines, Moroccan dates and figs, snow-boards for the dunes, a campfire, and Berber Tam-Tam (drum circle) by Said and Ismail and other MCT workers!

The next day began early with a sunrise over the dunes, and then a delicious Moroccan breakfast with Msemn, honey, and olives. This was followed by our choice to ride back out of the desert on camels again, or upgrade to ATVs. What an experience!

This was a wonderfully beautiful experience. Hassan (our tour guide from Morocco Shining Tours - IG: hassan_alhiane_) booked our camel ride across the desert to this camp. The atmosphere, food and service were all amazing. It was very cold in January when we went, recommend bringing warm clothing, but in each room there was a djellaba (or jillaba, either spelling is acceptable) for each guest, which will keep you plenty warm. The bedding is also very plush and suited for the cold weather. There was running water and hot showers, think glamping. Nights in the desert were spent listening to local and popular music played by the staff and star gazing.

Totalmente recomendable! Muchas gracias por vuestra acogida Said, Assou, Hamid, Moussin,Jouseff y compañía!
