Dar Dakhla — Hotel in Dakhla

Our flight from Marrakech was delayed by 15 hours and informed Dar Dakhla (using the Booking.Com messenger). ||They were OK to pick us up at Dakhla airport even though it was now a 4.a.m.landing.||We arrived and, strangely, there was no one to meet us so we took a taxi.||We woke the Front Desk and he told us the hotel was full.||Apparently a group of 11 overlanders arrived in the evening and they resold our booked room.||Even though there were other hotels nearby, they had made no arrangement to accommodate us and essentially abandoned us.||We had planned to stay 7 nights but, having contacted Booking.Com, we found an alternative (Imperial Playa Hotel). ||This is not easy at 5.a.m. as nothing opens until 8.a.m. in Dakhla. ||We could not believe Dar Dakhla's lack of caring for its customers and the short term greed.||Well, that is our story. I turned up late at night sick and tired. But from the moment I walked in I felt the most welcomed I had felt in my entire life! The staff were all extremely friendly and gave me a beautifully-cooked meal on the house. It was so nice I returned the next day for an early dinner the next day before my bus, where they insisted on cooking for me even though the kitchen wasn’t yet open! I’ll never forget such warm hospitality!||The rooftop terrace has a great view of the ocean and it’s a cool place to hang out. D'abord l'hôtel (si c'est bien un hôtel?) est très difficile à trouver, car totalement inconnu, tant de la police que des confrères... l'adresse n'existe pas (pas de numérotation sur le bd Mohamed V) pas d'entrée sur le bd, mais dans une ruelle (piétonne) perpendiculaire...||après avoir cherché pendant 2 heures - après près de 800 km de route!...) et grace à Google Earth et assistance de braves marocains tenant un restaurant. Ensuite, pas de parking, stationnement dans une ruelle sur l'arrière.||Gardien sénégalais sympa, mais réceptionniste absent appelé par tph; impossible d'accèder à des toilettes.. formalités froides et peu chaleureuses, d'où une vingtaine de min pour obtenir la chambre. ||Nous devions prendre la route le lendemain pour la frontière Mauritanienne, vers 7 h 00, mais impossible d'obtenir un petit déjeuner avant 8 h 00 donc partis à jeun pour 3 heures de route sans halte possible... et le petit dej étant compris, payé pour rien...||grande chambre et bonne literie, mais eau tiède, lavabo dans la chambre sans tablette pour poser quoi que ce soit, salle d'eau douche WC; une seule grande serviette et une petite serviette déchirée!||pas de table de nuit, une seule prise courant loin de la tête de lit (ai du poser au sol mon appareil d'assistance respiratoire)||vacarme à la réception vers 22 h 30, un bon quart d'heure vers minuit, puis vers 4 h 20 du matin, donc impossible de se reposer.||En fait une très mauvaise étape, hôtel à fuir pour les voyageurs venant de France semblant...
