This was my second time visiting Palais Rhoul Dakhla in less than 6 months. My first time left a lasting fond memory that I so eagerly booked a second one to recharge and disconnect the first chance I got. Everything is thought through to the finest detail, the architecture, the flow of the spaces, the understated sophistication and luxury that breathes exclusivity, the spacious and opulent suites with picturesque views on the blue lagoon and the distant faint horizon. Nothing but shades of blue as far as the eye can see.||||Location is great, as you are in the city and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. Beds are extremely comfortable covered in pure Egyptian cotton sheets and the cuisine is exquisite (by far the best kitchen in Dakhla) - Organic produce sourced all over Morocco, fresh menu changing everyday and fresh fish brought directly from the sea as it is fished by the hotel’s fishermen whom you see leaving on their little blue boat everyday for your dinner and lunch’s “catch of the day” literally! They also offer delicious moroccan specialities done right - If you never had moroccan food, I would suggest you try Harira soup and if you happen to stay through a Friday, don’t miss the Couscous! ||The best thing about Palais Rhoul, however, is the people. The staff are wonderful, extremely nice, polite, courteous, extremely discreet, you don’t hear or see them but always around anticipating your every need with the warmest smile and attitude. Extremely helpful and attentive, very hard not to mention all of them…Jordan, Dossou, sheikh, Aminata, Sarah, Hamza, are fantastic! ||The spa is not to miss! The massages are surprisingly outstanding and some of the best I experienced. The team is very skilled and some of their masseurs are internationally trained. Make sure to try the 4 hands massage, it is a must! ||I also tried the hammam with Nadia and Asma- What a treat! A full body massage with black organic soap, then a full body scrub and exfoliation with 4 hands ending with the most wonderful cooling feeling of oranges being squeezed and rubbed on your skin leaving it refreshed, detoxified, soft and smelling divine.||||It is really hard not to love this place, it is a well kept secret where time stands still and where your worries wash away with the first sip of moroccan tea served at your arrival with delicious home made moroccan sweets and the warmest African welcome. Much like the most beautiful destinations and establishments in the world, it delivers a unique experience to its carefully looked after guests.||||A true treasure full of art work and artisan’s craftsmanship in the purest moroccan tradition mixed with African and Asian influences blending superbly and giving the place character and soul. ||||I strongly recommend you treat yourself and make the detour to Palais Rhoul Dakhla! I promise it will be worth your while..||||Many thanks to its...
Read moreI visit Dakhla regularly for business and have stayed in a variety of hotels over the years, and arguably all of the best hotels - there are now several that are quite good. The Palais Rhoul is the best in terms of aesthetic, ambience and food. My regular room was actually quite large and well appointed and perfectly functional. The pricing was also very competitive although weekends and suites can be pretty expensive relative to the competition. It is a boutique hotel and brands itself as such. The layout of the hotel is interesting, with communal spaces (library, pseudo reception, nooks) that resonate with a cool vibe (although they lean too heavily on a safari aesthetic for my taste with animal skins and tortoise shells hanging on the walls). The pool is excellent and refreshing with views of the bay. I've had several meals there and all have been excellent. The dinner menu has plenty of variety and alcohol is served. The wine list is limited. You will pay a premium for the drinks, but you are in Morocco and Dakhla!. The service was superb. There seems to be about as many staff waiting on clients as there are rooms (15). ||My one critique is I had a flight out at 9 am and arranged the night before to have a simple early breakfast (only by 30 min because they start serving at 8 am). However, that communication never made it to the kitchen so when I came down at 7:30 there was nothing prepared. A normal breakfast is pretty good, so I felt I missed out and that is on the hotel staff and communication. The Friday 9 am flight out of Dakhla is standard so my request would not have been unusual. There were also issues with the taxi to the airport arranged by the...
Read moreA beautiful relaxing place and very special experience
The entire hotel is beautifully designed, with particular highlights being the stunning tiles and lovely views of sunrise across the sea. There’s great attention to detail – for example there is always subtle background music played in the salon which really adds to the ambience and feeling of relaxation.
The staff and management strike just the right balance between being friendly and attentive and giving you space to relax. I would describe the vibe of the place as welcoming and relaxed yet still classy boutique luxury, with the level of service you would expect of this.
The food was delicious – the chef is superb. I’m a vegetarian and that was no problem whatsoever. I enjoyed a range of dishes, including some traditional Moroccan dishes I hadn’t had before, and the most amazing melt-in-the-middle chocolate pudding, as well as some delicious healthier meals. A group of us enjoyed a delicious catered picnic on the beach which was only a short drive away from the hotel, with some guests trying kitesurfing under expert instruction from the French kitesurfing instructors who speak very good English.
The hotel has its own hammam and massage, a very special experience. There’s also a small fitness centre/gym, stunning pool, pontoon, and paddleboards. I was very much looking forward to returning here in early 2021, but unfortunately new covid restrictions mean this isn’t currently possible. I very much hope to be back again soon (this time capable of speaking...
