We had a disappointing stay and would not recommend this hotel.
First, although it presents itself as a five-star hotel, it operates more like a pool/beach club. Despite advertising two separate pool areas (one for hotel guests, one for external visitors) the distinction is not upheld. Management flooded the guest-only pool with loud, disruptive and disrespectful day guests, most of whom were shouting, swearing and openly discussing drug use. Some even went as far as removing our belongings from sunbeds—with staff allowing it. When we raised this, management said they couldn’t turn away guests who had come “all the way from Marrakech”—a puzzling response, especially given we had travelled from London and were paying to stay at the hotel itself. The focus is clearly on paid day visitors rather than hotel guests.
Secondly, the facilities fall short of five-star standards. The spa and gym are both without air conditioning—completely unacceptable in 30°C heat. The massage was average and the gym equipment poorly maintained. One of the treadmills was unsafe to use.
Lastly but most concerningly, we experienced what felt like discriminatory treatment. A few days before our stay, we visited the hotel for lunch. As a group of Black women, we were stopped at the entrance by a staff member who rudely and dismissively looked us up and down before abruptly stating the restaurant was fully booked. This was surprising, as we’d been personally recommended by our Airbnb host. After being turned away twice, I returned and mentioned we were due to check in later that week. Only then did he consult a colleague (she was very kind and helpful), who said they could accommodate us. When we entered, the restaurant was largely empty. While we cannot conclusively say we were discriminated against, we felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t ignore how differently we were treated compared to other (non-Black) guests.
When we checked in days later, the same staff member greeted us with a visible sigh and eye-roll, and did not assist with our luggage. We raised this at reception, but rather than address the situation seriously, the response was defensive. No apology was offered, and the incident was brushed off as a misunderstanding.
On departure, we shared all of this feedback clearly, including our concerns about the treatment we received. No action was taken, and no compensation was offered—just a vague apology and a suggestion to return in future, which felt entirely...
Read moreThe hotel is chic, great furnishings, furniture, beautiful rooms and restaurant, pool area is also nice, there’s a busy one or one for only house guests which has more space between beds which are nicer and cute tables. It’s a lot more calm which I liked for some days.
The food - delicious breakfast and I loved the pool food, the burger was a 10/10. The menu is quite limited like a lot of boutique hotels, so I would only recommend 3 nights if you are not planning on going out or try one thing at a time.
Our room was probably one of the best, room 19. It was huge and had lovely furniture and furnishings. Two bedrooms and two balconies with a lovely pool view of the house pool. I do think the smaller room needs a bit more light or something as it is not as spectacular as the other one. The bathroom was also very nicely decorated.
The staff in the main restaurant made our holiday- Abdel and Ayoob, they deserve recognition for such amazing customer service and hospitality and hard work.
The staff are friendly and accommodating and always asking how we are or do we need anything. They deserve to be mentioned, it’s not easy pleasing lots of people. So thanks so much for a beautiful stay.
I do have some room for improvement but this is solely for the OWNER of the hotel not anyone else.
The rooms are expensive compared to similar boutiques in Marrakech (I paid £460 per night with a discount) so you shouldn’t charge £8 for bottled water, soft drinks, and tea/coffee - I do think that is unreasonable. Also you don’t supply things which are found in a 5 star hotel, such as cotton pads, ear buds, nail file, loofah, selection of teas, milk for the tea, mugs. These things really should be in the room.
There was a problem with the shower, it was going very hot and very cold and not draining. And other people on the lower ground were complaining about a smell. So these things should be seen to, it’s stopping you from getting 5 star reviews and hasn’t been addressed as people have been mentioning this to you for at least a year. You also need to give everyone water when they are at the pool, not have to keep asking for it or pay for it.
Other than that, great stay and thanks for everyone who...
Read moreWE LOVED THIS HOTEL! Hamza is the kindest man I think I have ever met in my life. From the second we entered the hotel doors there was and is NOTHING this man cannot arrange or do for you. Our trip would not of been the same had Hamza not been my go to person for anything we needed or wanted to ask about. The entire management team and all the staff are walking talking angels. I mean this with the upmost conviction when I say that every single staff member is the most respectful and honest human being you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. ||Upon entering you are shown around the amazing hotel personally, and greeted with nothing but smiles and without a doubt the best hospitality I have ever received anywhere in the world. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, really when I say the pictures don’t compare to seeing it with your own eyes I truly do mean that. The pool areas, the hotel rooms, the bar area and communal seating areas. The restaurant is somewhat heavenly and can sit there all day just watching the world go by. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of the different members of management and members of staff for everything they have done to make our trip so memorable. It has been nothing short of magical and a blessing to of met you all. If I could leave the score as 100/10 I would.||We have enjoyed the holiday so much that on day 2 we booked to return to the hotel again and this time will be staying in the royal suite. The Spa treatments are incredible, both myself and my partner used the Hamman on our final day and it really did live up to all our expectations. The quality of the food and drinks are 100/10. I really have NOTHING to criticise or any bad words to say for anything regarding this hotel and it’s a huge credit to the owner for creating such a beautiful place and filling it with THE BEST STAFF AND PEOPLE from Marrakech. ||I really left feeling as if we’ve made friends here and again I cannot thank Hamza enough and I look forward to staying in touch and seeing you again next year inshallah. ||THANKYOU ALL...
