My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The massages were amazing, the food was great and one of the waiters who served us mostly in the mornings was so lovely. The pool area is really nice too, the pool is unheated so if you're not into cold water swimming or have small children, it's probably not ideal. ||We were disappointed with the general service though (maybe this is a cultural thing) we asked for a bath plug for our bath and were told many times the hotel staff were bringing it. Eventually the next day we asked again and were told it was not possible to have a bath because there wasn't enough water. Such a shame because a bath would have been really nice.||The rooms were very tired, we had a cigarette burn hole in our bedding, in fact they had flipped our duvet cover over to hide this (the hotels embroidered logo was on underside of the duvet). Generally the paint was worn in parts, the shower had to held in a certain position so the water flowed and general wear and tear on furniture. ||The spa consists of a hamam and a massage room, it is not a typical european spa.||I was very disappointed when my headphones went missing (not super expensive, around £50 on amazon, but very inconvenient not to have). They were on the bedside table when I left the room to hang out by the pool, after returning to a nice clean room the headphones were gone. I am confident I left them on the bedside table because I only use them at night. I alerted the reception to this the following day (why wait?! Because I wanted to be sure they weren't in the room - so after I had packed my bag and looked absolutely everywhere I went to reception), they simply told me that housekeeping couldn't find them. So.. either they were pinched by a staff member, or another guest (I will admit that when we were at the pool we did not padlock our door). Either way I was very disappointed, but as they were not expensive, not worth claiming on my insurance. I didn't pursue this further because I wanted to relax and enjoy the holiday and as the staff were so unhelpful with other matters like the bath plug I couldn't face a debate with them. I say this as a warning to other guests to leave all items of any value in the safe or keep with you. ||Overall we had a nice stay, the pool and massages made up for the negatives. Wouldn't stay again though due to the...
Read moreWe stayed here for a Minimoon in May 2025 and were not disappointed. This hotel is a oasis away from the hustle and bustle of central Marrakech with very easy access to the city centre via taxi, which the hotel will arrange for you with half an hour's notice. The hotel was very quiet when we were there, sometimes we were the only people around the pool or in the restaurant, which was perfect for us.||The staff are brilliant and we met the owner as we were leaving on our last day, who was very warm and welcoming.||The pool is the most beautiful I have ever swam in and the accommodation is so unique. We stayed in Jasmine lodge and although we were told this is one of the smaller rooms, we were very happy in there. The bathroom was bigger than the bedroom! On our last night, one of the brillliant team members showed us around some of the other lodges and wow - they are huge and we would definitely book one of these if we came again.||We dined in the hotel a lot and the food was always delicious. We loved the traditional Moroccan breakfast each day.||There are even tortoises roaming the grounds! Which was very exciting for us as we have a family tortoise at home, who came over from Africa in the 60s.||The only thing I would note is that it would be helpful if there was some kind of document/booklet in the rooms which provide some basic details about the hotel, like meal times/pool rules. For example, we were a bit confused about the sunbed rules and when we were allowed to use the white double sun beds or not, as these seemed to be prioritised for day guests. ||We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Morocco and will recommend...
Read moreTerrible Experience — Avoid Lodge K!
I visited Lodge K recently, my last visit was back in 2021, and I was shocked at how much the quality of service and facilities has gone downhill.
First, we paid 1500dh for a couple, which only included two dishes (main + starter or main + dessert), not even a soft drink included! In Marrakesh, almost everyone offers a 3-course meal (salad, main, dessert) for the same or even lower price.
The towels were disgusting, we couldn’t even use them to dry ourselves, and the sunbeds were old, dirty, and completely worn out.
After a swim, we decided to have lunch. The starters (salmon salad and roast veg pesto) were actually good, but then we waited 40 minutes for the mains. When I asked what was happening, they told me the morning staff left without handing over to the evening staff, and none of the waiters even noticed we were waiting so long! I didn’t make a scene, I just asked nicely for our food because we were starving.
After another 15 minutes, the mains finally arrived: a basic, bland chicken tagine and the worst risotto I’ve ever tasted milky, flavourless, and topped with deep-fried prawns. Who even cooks risotto like that? It was disgusting. Imagine rice pudding topped with prawn tempuras.
They tried to offer us something else but by then we were tired, hungry, and just wanted to swim a bit and leave. The owner tried to offer me a drink or fruit salad, as if that would make up for charging 1500dh for this mess.
Overall: awful experience. I will never go back. They just want your money and don’t care at all about quality or service....
