I had been looking forward to a really nice hot shower at this hotel (the interior of which looked as if it was still in the grand tradition of the French colonial period) after having spent a cold day outdoors. First of all the (antique) radiators didn't work at all, so the reception hall was quite cold. There was an outdoor heater, but only in the dining room, and when I went near it to warm myself, as I was waiting for my group to be registered, the maitre d' (in dinner jacket) haughtily shut the doors to the dining room. ||||There was only a trickle of water in the shower (my room was on the 3rd floor), and it was cold. Upon telling reception there was no hot water, they appeared surprised, and asked for my room number. There was more water (still not hot) when I returned after dinner, but no hot water either in the morning.||The room was freezing cold even though I had 4 blankets over me because the window pane was broken. The temperature outside must have been colder than minus 5 Centigrade.||||There's a certificate of a Gastronomy Award from London in 1992 -- funny that -- because there was certainly no evidence of any effort in...
Read moreHaving done extensive research before our Morocco trip I now realise the value of taking the time to plan carefully. Because I always do this and read reviews compulsively I'd forgotten how ripped off you can be if you are unprepared! Our plans changed unexpectedly due to a car hire issue and we ended up having to spend an unscheduled night here. It was freaky weird. When we arrived we were told only one room remained...the suite (of course)and so we took it. T he best room in the house!!! OMGIt looked like the suite from a horror movie.....probably stylish in the 70's but not one thing had been updated since then. We were the only people (in the FULL hotel) for dinner or breakfast and the hovering waiter in a tux just added to the surreal atmosphere. Strange hotel and not in a good way. It did however seem reasonably clean and the food was...
Read moreI stayed here 2 nights in June 2008 with a group. ||||The first night I got a terrible room. It was the perfect decor for a horrormovie. I was really scared, couldn't get sleep and went down to tell the guide I could not sleep in that room. She went to the reception and asked a nice room. So I changed to a better room, but still I had a bad feeling and hardly had any sleep. ||||The hotel is very old. Chairs are broken etc. There is not always hot water.||||The owner of the hotel was drunk and started a "conversation". Members of the group told me that he was shouting at the staff (I was not there at that moment).||||Avoid this hotel.||||We stayed In Midelt because we did a trekking around the Jaffar mountain. Midelt, itself, is not...
