I spend great five days in Maison Afoulki. The place is great and I really liked it there. ||||First of all the host is great. He is very helpful and nice. Every day starts with big breakfast nicely served. Additionally as I was facing the diarrhea for a few days the host was cooking rice for me. ||||The place is located a bit outside of the 'city-center' (but close to CTM office where the bus stops). It makes it more quiet in the night. The building has two floors (where rooms are located). On the ground floor there is a big coffe place where locals gather. But don't be afraid of noise in the evening or night. The place closes around 10 pm (or a bit latter if the football match prolongs) and you don't hear noises from the down in your room. ||||Rooms are very clean. Host's wife cleans shared bathrooms every day so they're really clean as well. There are rooms with air conditioning and without. In April I didn't need it. Also as I was the only guest at that time I didn't have problem with shared bathrooms.||||All in all I really recommend staying there even if you find locations that looks better in...
Read moreQuite possibly the cleanest hotel in Morroco. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. If the weather is good, this could be a perfect low-budget home base for exploring the Tafraout region, especially for those who don't care for riad-like charm or touristy frills. Good if basic breakfast. The breakfast room also seems to function as a coffee house for locals. Said can also make a respectable and reasonably priced tajine for dinner. The location is pretty good too, very close to the center but just out of the touristy bustle. Tip: climb the rocks just behind the hotel for a view of the town and the backyard of Les Amandiers.||||We knew the low price left little room for luxury, but for us, travelling with a baby on the two coldest and windiest days of our trip, it wasn't always comfortable. The rooms are rather sparingly furnished and ours had no curtains; also, we found the supply of hot water to not always be reliable. None of this problematic for the real backpacker who wants to hike around Tafraout, but if you have your baby with you, perhaps...
Read moreThis was the best value place we stayed at during our month in Morocco. It was the cheapest price and so we set our expectations lower but didn't need to as the room had everything we needed. The hotel is quite newly built and is over a quiet café. The owner only speaks French but communicates excellently to anyone who really listens. He is willing to help finding walks etc. and quickly hopped on his bike to lead us to a tyre menders in town.||The car parking right next to the hotel is a real bonus. ||The only downside is that the hotel is slightly out of town. An easy walk for us but if you are incapacitated at all it may be too far (no lift in the building anyway). ||It could also do with some finishing touches from an interior designer (read "a...
