I really loved the location of this hotel. Some people I met wouldn't agree and found it to be too flashy with the colored window panes. And I thought the same - too tall, too stand-offish, but I did spend a couple of nights there and I did meet people working there and it totally changed my impression and experience. When you wake up in the morning, those colored glasses make the most interesting play of colored lights beaming into your room. I loved it every morning and made many shots. Although, in the evening, they do make the room appear darker than it is :') The decoration of the walls might be a fake imitation of mud/hay style but it looks pretty convincing and goes well. The beds are good and I found two blankets in both rooms I stayed in. Prices can be cheaper if you come in person instead of booking online, and even cheaper if it's for longer than 2 weeks. There is aircon, not functional tho. And the shower is fixed. I don't really like these kind of showers, especially when you have to wait for the warm water to start, then you get splashed with cold, but oh well. That's just my first-world problem :') Otherwise, there's soap upon request and toilet paper, the quality one. Towels and bed sheets are available too. There's a coffee shop downstairs and Ahmed who is a very nice peep to get to know. Amina is the cleaning staff and she's as lovely as Ahmed. The kitchen is at disposal if you need to fix a quick meal or cook, and the location is closer to the gazelle drawing, flat rock and one of the original villages with the oldest Berber house. If you're confused by what I enlisted, google or ask Ahmed. I say, go check it out in general. It stands out but with a...

Sink in bathroom did not drain well.||||Girl at front desk was helpful and her English good. A basic but good breakfast of coffee or tea (great coffee), fresh orange juice (the best I've had in Morocco) and bagette with packaged butter, apricot jam and cheese, is available for 23 direm.||||My son and I wanted to see the Ameln Valley and the hotel recommended a guide- Said, who has a store (Maison Tourait...or something) about 100 meters towards the center of town on the same road "who speaks English". Hardly. The guide kept us mostly on the roads we could have walked ourselves, spoke very little and told us next to nothing about what we were seeing (i.e., "this is water", "here is good place for picture", "this is argan fruit"). Avoid using him.||||You can walk the old Berber villages of the Ameln Valley yourself and with a little internet research be a much better guide than the one we had; with no research-...
Read moreWe've arrived in Tafraoute early afternoon and after checking out some places we picked this one for its beautiful rooms and for being away from the main bustle in the city but still within walking distance (about 3 minutes). We did not regret it at all:||||* the whole house is tastefully decorated||* the room was very clean ||* the air condition worked reasonably well: it was about 30C at sunset but within 20 minutes the room was cooled down to 23C||* the shower was awesome: not just a dribble but lots of water, also lots of really hot water||* very attentive and helpful staff who did not even try to persuade us to eat in their restaurant when we asked for directions the restaurant we had selected through TA||* very reasonably priced: a double room, 2 breakfasts, coffee and orange juices after arrival came at less than 400 MAD||* they don't have a pool (having one, in my opinion, is a sacrilege in areas this arid and hot and therefore I consider this a plus!)||||Next time I'll definitely stay...
