Auberge Restaurant Chez Ali — Hotel in Zagora

Warning: Poor organisation and broken promises – avoid excursions!

Positive: The garden is nice and the hotel staff were friendly.

Negative: We paid 450 euros for a package including: one night in the desert, one night in the hotel, two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners. This agreement was not honoured: we had to pay extra for one lunch and one dinner – and were only informed at check-out. Verbal agreements mean nothing here – insist on written confirmation!

Other serious issues: • Breakfast in the desert was rushed under pressure to leave immediately – very unpleasant. • During the car rides, loud, disturbing music was played continuously, without any consideration for the guests. • The guide was not a desert guide who could introduce guests to the beauty of the desert – he was simply an enthusiastic rally driver. • At the very beginning of the trip in Zagora, he stocked up on alcohol, which was highly inappropriate for a desert excursion. • On the first day he was friendly, but on the second day he became cold and silent, which killed the atmosphere. • No sufficient water provided for our family of five during the desert trip – we had to endure thirst. This is completely irresponsible and unacceptable.

Conclusion: While the hotel grounds are nice, the excursions are unprofessional, unreliable and not worth the money. Absolutely not...

I recently visited Auberge Chez Ali and found it to be a very nice place with a great atmosphere. The setting is beautiful, offering a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that makes your visit memorable. The traditional decor and lively entertainment add to the charm and make it stand out. That said, I feel the place could benefit from a bit more professionalism in some areas, especially when it comes to service. Improving the attentiveness and efficiency of the staff would really enhance the overall experience.

Also, the morning coffee could be better — it felt a little lacking compared to the rest of the quality the place offers. A good, strong coffee in the morning would be a perfect way to start the day here.

SITUACIÓN: En una localización con tal abundancia de alojamiento de todo tipo, no viene mal ir a un sitio que te hayan recomendado (o repetir un sitio ya conocido) y éste fue nuestro caso. Resultó ser un sitio con un gran equilibrio entre calidad-precio. Su ubicación resulta muy práctica, en el extremo sur de la ciudad, en una calle tranquila y amplia donde se pueden dejar los coches sin problema. Muy fácil de encontrar y con posibilidad de dejar los coches en la misma puerta donde uno de los chicos del albergue los guarda por la noche, aunque no haya ningún motivo para que alguien los guarde.||||ARQUITECTURA: En los últimos años el albergue se ha ampliado, siendo actualmente un edificio de tres plantas con un gran jardín en la parte posterior, todo bien acondicionado. En la planta baja se sitúan los espacios comunes y en las plantas piso se encuentran las habitaciones. El jardín, que se sitúa en la parte posterior del edificio, es un vergel muy bien cuidado con diferentes espacios donde descansar (jaima, mesas en el exterior entre la vegetación, piscina...).||||SERVICIO Y LIMPIEZA: El servicio es amable y discreto. El estado de limpieza del albergue es muy correcto. ||||CLIMATIZACIÓN: Las habitaciones disponen de climatización. Nuestra visita fue en diciembre y realmente no fue necesaria porque no hacía frío.||||HABITACIÓN: Ocupamos una habitación doble en la última planta, las más nuevas del albergue. Decorada de manera sencilla pero con gusto y con una pequeña terraza hacia el jardín muy agradable. ||||BAÑO: Baño en la habitación con ducha, buena limpieza. Como es habitual en los albergues, no hay toallas ni jabón. Agua caliente abundante sin problemas.||||RESTAURACIÓN: La cena fue jugosa y abundante con una buena sopa harira y un tajine de segundo. El desayuno fue muy abundante, todo muy bien, especialmente los "churros" recién hechos que nos sirvieron. Un desayuno muy completo para tratarse de un albergue.||||RESERVA: Fuimos sin reserva y no hubo problemas. Sin embargo, las reservas via email son muy aconsejables.||||OTROS: ||||El alojamiento dispone de wifi en todos los espacios comunes, hasta en el jardín!||||Nos quedamos con las ganas de volver a este albergue con los niños y con buen tiempo para poder disfrutar del jardín, de la jaima y la piscina tranquilamente.||||Por la noche parece que desconectan la bomba del agua, por lo que si eres el más madrugón del albergue te va a tocar avisar que...
