My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights in Zagora (End February 2016) staying at Prends Ton Temps. ||The "Auberge" offers many options for travelers, including camping and a variety of pretty cool bungalows. There are a few smaller bungalows with bathroom outside as well as some larger bungalows with bathroom inside. ||||We stayed in one of the larger rooms with WC inside for ~220 DH, a reasonable price given it includes perfectly acceptable WI-FI (all around the property and also inside rooms), clean room, clean towels, nice (''normal'') toilet, hot water and anything else you need to be comfortable. ||||The Auberge was reasonably busy and the atmosphere very nice, everyone kind - other tourists and staff included. ||||Rooms have locks, always feel safe and valuables very secure. ||||The property offers many options to sit outside, including 2nd floor terraces and lounges with electric plugs / WIFI sprinkled everywhere.||||Only had one meal at the hotel - tagine with Moroccan salad, fruits - it was very good albeit more expensive than options on the main street, which is an easy 5mn walk from the auberge. Of course it makes sense that food is a little more expensive given it is fresh and they must go buy ingredients and prepare it themselves etc... ||||We are travelling for 2 months and are on a smaller budget, but for anyone on a short trip I don't think the prices would be a big deal. ||||Auberge offered breakfast for 30DH/person, we didn't try it as we preferred to go to the main street to try something new every morning (also a bit cheaper, expect to pay anywhere from 40-50 DH total for 2 people). ||||Recommendations to staff: it might have been nice to have unrestricted access to the kitchen to make tea, maybe put drinks in the fridge etc... (this might have been possible but it is a little unclear). I think they could also increase the quality of the stay by offering an affordable drink menu (fresh OJs, cold cokes, waters, teas). They could certainly make some extra on the side and we would have been happy to order from the menu!!||||Great stay, would...
Read moreThis place has plenty of great reviews and is set up very nice. It's got an interesting type of layout with tables and lounge areas. ||||Positives:||- nice layout||- variation of rooms||- good cooking tho no menu and more pricy than street food but to be expected. Still as always in Maroc make sure to ask about the prices.||-very large place|||||| Negatives:||-wifi doesn't work in the rooms at all||- no hot water||- super dirty showers and bathroom. The walls in the shower were extremely dirty. ||- pillows without covers you can wash so you're sleeping on what the past 400 ppl slept on||- dirty rugs/floors in the "huts" ||-animals onsite don't seem to be fed or taken care of and the poor things are filled w bugs. I mean filled. ||- originally saw this on booking and kayak, it was listed for $17 which is about 180DH. We got there, they immediately ask us where we're from as apparently if you're from America, you're loaded w money...and they gave us a ton of hassle about the price. Coming up with every excuse in the book about why it's 200DH. They finally said ok it's fine. Then when we checked out less than 24h later they tried to charge us 200DH again... (also not sure why they were hassling so much about the price as no one else was staying there that night)||- had laundry done, told them we have to leave early am and our laundry didn't show up until 10am. We were waiting around since 7am for cafe, included breakfast and laundry. ||- also the show they put on right when we got there about the nomadic tribes complete w the fella they called in to do so, wanting to charge us crazy price of $150 per person for a one night desert trip. ||||Prices:||180DH for 1 night 2 ppl||70DH / person for dinner - salad, chicken kebab and fruit ||40DH Laundry ||||Wouldn't stay again, wish I could say...
Read moreI was passing through Zagora on my way to M'Hamid, and I ended up at Prends Ton Temps for a beautiful afternoon. Belaide and his staff cooked a delicious lunch for us, played traditional music for us, and made me and my then fiance feel so welcome. After lunch we spent several hours clapping along to (recorded) music with friends in one of the big tents. The property was lovely and I know that it has been improved upon since our visit in 2008.||||Several days later while we were on a dune tour in the Sahara, Belaide, our host at Prends Ton Temps, showed up as the featured musician. He played well into that magical night, offering wonderful conversation and a big belly laugh. We have since stayed in contact, and he even recorded my favorite song from our visit for my husband and I for our wedding. Such is the impression that this visit made that we named our daughter after the desert. I would not hesitate to recommend Prends Ton Temps to a friend visiting Zagora, for its beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, and warm,...
