The room (with private bathroom) is ok. BUT: 1. Breakfast area on the roof is full with pigeons... on the dishes.. in the "kitchen".. on your table.. 2. Gave us an expired coffee powder (and didn't have any others to replace them with) (It's a shame because the bread and egg for breakfast were great). 3. Apparently it's ok to smoke in the lobby..... 4. Sheets were not clean and we had to ask them to change them.

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at the Red Dragon hotel. They picked us up from the night bus at 5am and offered us free early check-in so we could get some extra sleep. The rooms are simple, but clean and great value for money. You can opt to have AC which works perfectly, and the beds are comfy. Breakfast is simple but tasty (rice or noodles with a fried egg, toast and fruit on the side and bottomless tea) and it's included in the cost of the room. The staff are fantastic - so lovely and helpful. I had an especially eye-opening experience when I had a minor crash on one of the hotel motorbikes. A local shopkeeper called the hotel and a member of staff came directly to help me. The bike had a few knocks and scrapes and was leaking oil so I feared the worst in terms of costs (especially having heard so many horror stories from other SE Asian countries), but the lady from the hotel simply knocked a couple of things back into place, dusted it off and said it was fine! She was very much more worried about me and took out the first aid kit to clean me up when we got back to the hotel. No extra cost for the bike, and she checked on me later that evening and in the morning too. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone...

After getting to Hsipaw on the long train from Mandalay, I was looking for a shower, a non-wooden seat to sit on, and a place to rest and relax by the river for a couple of days. Looking around on Agoda for deals, I stopped at the towering Red Dragon Hotel to check if the price was accurate. I booked a superior room for very cheap - a good deal on agoda - and headed up. The room was large and spacious - rather sparse - but extremely clean. The room wasn't that well lit, but the staff was kind and helpful, and the view was great - both from my room and the easily accessible roof. ||||I ended up staying longer than I thought - waiting for a friend I met in Indonesia - and the staff was easy-going about the extension. They had a good breakfast which is included. The wifi was ok - good by Myanmar standards. ||||All in all, it was fine. Good enough, and better than a dorm. The price was more than fair, and the place was a nice stop.||||7.5/10 - would give the roof a 10. Right...

I stayed in November, 2019. I stayed three nights and the WiFi only worked for one of those three. The rest of the time it didn't work at all. The AC only worked for two of the three nights. The shower only had two settings: scalding hot and freezing cold. The lighting in the room was terrible, all bright, direct and right in your eyes when lying down. And you have to pay to refill your water bottle. It's not much it's just annoying, that kind of thing should be free. I also asked one receptionist for a late check-out and he said it was fine but then the next day another receptionist called me and told me I had to pay extra. I would have been fine with this, but don't tell me two different things when I ask.

The beds are very comfortable, the location is extremely convenient right next to Mr. Bike, the breakfast is very filling and tasty, and the price can't be beat. Overall it's not a bad place to stay, but has a lot of room for...
