Orient Hotel — Hotel in Mandalay District

This hotel is in an old and not particularly attractive building. The neighborhood is safe but not scenic, and places to eat nearby are very few. The rooms are small and plain but have decent amenities such as a small fridge and a safe.The elevator is efficient. The plumbing was hit and miss on water pressure and hot water, and only one of the electrical outlets in the room worked. The free breakfast was not very good and consisted mostly of Asian food kept in warming trays that were not warm. The wifi was hard to access and kept cutting out. A couple of times the power went out entirely for a few minutes at a time. However, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. I was really comfortable and happy while staying at the Orient hotel. There are many famous restaurants and big supermarkets around the hotel. It's also a good location for a tour of downtown Mandalay. Most of all, I fell in love with the kindness of the staff. All staffs are always smiling and very very kind. Clean the room all the time. Cheap price. Everything is beyond fine except the dining experience. The room can use a lil more space for ppl to move around esp when u r getting up and u pushed back ur chair and it slammed into other's chair. Next is my personal view only but i find my first buffet at this hotel lil but confusing. I hav to get used to the way they display food n plates but again my own view.
