The owner if this restaurant is the 5th generation of merchants here. His great grand father used to take the train to Mumbai to purchase Italian fabric among other merchandise, and then about 50 porters would meet him at the border of India and carry them back here in 2-3 day's walk. They also got leather-related goods and gold from Tibet and retailers from 4 neighboring states would come here to buy products. They figured using mud and bricks to support timber would make sturdy architecture. The local set lunch was such a wonderfully delicious surprise that I left nothing on the plates. It was mild enough to my taste and yet with a variety of harmoniously presented spices. The yogurt with crushed pan-fried peanuts was such a perfect finale of this grand feast. I was not terribly stuffed, yet so sustaining that I wasn't hungry 9 hours after the meal!
