Good Hotel Pvt Ltd — Hotel in Bandipur

This place receives high ratings and that surprised us. It is definitely NOT a resort. It is a renovated building in the pedestrian area in Bandipur. Rooms are alright, but could use better cleaning as there are too many cobwebs, dirty spots and holes in the wall. Bedding is good and sleeping was very comfortable, especially with the windows open and the cool breeze blowing through. There is no A/C and it is not needed. Bathroom facility is spacious and often has hot water, but again better cleaning is called for. WiFi is weak even in the public spaces. TV did not work as there was no signal, but next door the TV's had good reception. Restaurant provided good food, but it is difficult to time as staff is often not present. Certainly not 24 hour room service as the place goes dark around 9:00 pm. Sometimes 10% service fee is added to the restaurant bill, while the service is minimal. Most restaurants in Bandipur stopped adding the 10% as they lack customers.The staff at Good Hotel is very kind, but not efficient. We enjoyed our stay in Good Hotel, but they are a bit optimistic about their own rating. Bandipur has more lodging than visitors, so there is plenty of choice. We would try another...

We had a very bad experience eating here. I ordered a Newari Khaja Set. However it was unfortunately completely oversalted, so much so that it was inedible.

After I friendly told them that it is to salty we waited for 10 minutes but they did not do anything.

I thought that they would come up with a solution or prepare the meal again.

However after a while the owners reaction was that we have to pay for the meal anyhow, even though it was inedible and the plate was still nearly untouched. I had just tried a spoonful.

His explanation was that the local Newari food tastes like that. I told him to try it himself but he refused multiple times. So he tried to lie to us because we as tourists wouldn't know better. (But we had the same dish at several other restaurant where it tasted great.)

He was very angry and did not see any mistake on their side.

Didn't stay. Just stopped by for the lunch. Food was very good but since they make it from scratch when ordered, the service is slow. We tried momo, plain bara and chwela(Newari meat item).We ordered our food and then went for a short tour around Bandipur to have our lunch ready.
