Just back from this beautiful homestay yesterday with 4 colleagues after staying for 2 nights. We were very happy to stay in this big, spacious, nicely decorated and homely house. First of all, the house was very clean and tidy, and it looked exactly the same as shown in pictures. Secondly, the price was reasonable. All amenities stated were provided. The bathroom were big and all equipped with heater. The living room was big enough for all 4 of us to have card-gaming(cards were provided) session. There was a big balcony on second floor. It was 10 minutes driving to town. The house owner was very nice, she was helpful and provided fast response to our needs. She can communicate well in English. She offered to fetch us when we arrived late in the midnight. Also, she had provided a lot of travel information and had suggested must-go places in Nepal to us. The only downside is the soundproof of this house, we need to keep our volume down after 12am to prevent any inconvenience to the neighbours. Highly recommended! And we will come back again when we visit Nepal...
Read moreJenny's homestay is simply great. Guests have the opportunity to stay in a truly Nepalese house far away for the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city. The main attractions are pretty near though, by foot in approx half an hour you can reach Monkey Temple or Thamel. Taxis and Motorbikes at cheap price will take you wherever you prefer. Jenny can also show you how to use local buses. The house is also close to the beautiful local park of Balaju. I stayed at Jenny's house renting out a room in her apartment. The room is fully furnished (big Wardrobe with locker, coffee table, double bed middle size) and has annexed WC. Shower with hot water is shared. Through Jenny you can learn about local culture and daily lifestyle of Nepalese people living in the capital. She is also a great cooker and she will prepare for you delicious meals. If you want to learn how to cook nepalese she will be happy to teach you some secrets. Totally recommended, great host, great apartment and...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our time with Jenny and her son, it offered a very comforting embracing experience. Given that my friend that planned the trip got delayed by sickness, having a nice cozy home environment to come back to after a day of adventuring was very very nice. They made us feel like part of their family and the cooking was great. The rooftop is great for morning stretching and workouts, they even had yoga mats. Jenny and her son also have very great English skills which made it easier to communicate, they even made my English feel inadequate at times. The surrounding area is very quiet and the people are very friendly, and it is also not too far from the bustling city environment. I heavily recommend walking the city of Kathmandu as apposed to taking taxis and this home stay is the perfect place to stay if you...
