I spent 10 days with Govinda and his beautiful family, but could easily have stayed much longer as it really did feel like home. Chatana, his wife, cooks delicious, traditional dishes using seasonal, fresh, organic vegetables from the garden and I got to help her with food preparation and learn about Nepalese cooking. We also all made momos together one afternoon which was so much fun! The farm is in a stunning location by Begnas Lake with views of the Himalayas. Such a quiet and tranquil place where I got to enjoy and relax with plenty of downtime for self reflection. Govinda taught me much about working the land and I got to help with many tasks including; milking the cow, planting crops, building supporting bamboo structures and weeding. It was extremely rewarding. I also got to spend time with their playful son Siddartha and help him with his homework. Overall I would highly recommend this homestay experience. Govinda and his family truely put in so much effort to make your stay as comfortable and traditional as possible while making you feel a part of the family. Will definitely be returning! Let me know how the tomatoes...

5 stars is not enough !

If you want to dive into permaculture farming beside jungle, lakes, hills and mountains, MVEF is then the place to be. Days in the farm are everyday different and full of surprises. Waking up to the birdsongs, eating tasteful food along with the mountain and hill view, cooking and learning more about the local food and spices, sowing different plants and observing them growing, or just relaxing in the hammock ; those are the type of activities that I had experienced, and much more. As well we had amazing conversations and funny time chatting and playing cards. I learned a lot about the Nepali culture; Ayurveda, Hinduism and much more. From their bravery and energy, I also learned about myself, they have inspired me a lot! You have to come to feel. All in all, if you are looking for a family host in Nepal to know more about organic farming and local culture, it's a life time experience. They are benevolent and careful, during my 2 month stay, I felt at home.

Govinda, Chetana and Siddartha, thank you family for the knowledge and cultural exchanges that we had. I highly recommend Mountain...

Thank you so much to this family for this beautiful glimpse into life in rural Nepal.

I could not recommend this place enough. I stayed at Mountain View Eco Farm for two nights and already felt genuinely so sad to say goodbye.

They gave me two peaceful, meaningful days in the most gorgeous setting, surrounded by nature and the calm energy of their home. Every meal was made with ingredients picked fresh from their farm that very day โ€” honestly, the food here is the best Iโ€™ve had in Nepal! I was lucky enough to learn how to make some of Chetanaโ€™s amazing dishes too.

You can really see how much work and love they put into their farm โ€” itโ€™s so well cared for and beautiful. Theyโ€™re such a kind, welcoming family, and their little boy Sidharta is just the sweetest โ€” bright, curious, always smiling. My heart melted on the last day when he came running down the hill to bring me my water bottle Iโ€™d forgotten.

This is a family that truly cares about offering a meaningful, genuine experience to their guests and they more than succeed. Thank you so much for everything. I will never forget...

We deeply fell in love with this family. We thought we come only for a nice place to stay away from the busy Pokhara, but we find a lot more. Govinda, Chetana and their sweetest child Sidharta opened up their house, farm, kitchen and especially their hearts for us and shared many authentic experiences of a traditional farming family. All the three meals we got during the days and the teas in between were the best we had in our journey, and the knowledge the mother shared with us about cooking cannot be found in any other place. We watched the father growing vegetables, milking their cow and boiling the milk for the later ghee, curd and paneer, and treating their hives to let us taste fresh honey directly from the hive. We enjoyed to play with the kid cards and chess and to laugh from his cuteness. Rooms were very convenient, clean and with good atmosphere, and with attached clean toilet and hot shower. In a walking distance to beautiful shore of Begnas lake. We miss you already and we know we will meet again next time in Nepal. Thank you very much for everything!

Mountain View Eco Farm is set on the hills outside Pokhara with wonderful views of the Himalayas. I recently visited with a group of school children to learn more about Eco farming. The Farm is well run and they use a range of eco friendly methods in their farming. The owner Govinda and his family take pride in the way they farm and offer a positive educational experience. Students got to learn about the different plants in the farm & the many uses they have, how to make natural pesticides, they took part planting seedlings and participated in a cooking class and enjoyed a yoga session looking out to the lake & Himalayas. The meals served were all prepared from food/plants from the farm. They happily catered for food allergies. Rooms at the Eco farm are basic but do their purpose (bearing in mind it is an Eco farm). There are hotel rooms of a higher standard a few minutes walk away also owned by the family. Here they also have a conference room available for presentations.
