For an overnight stay from Monday to Tuesday in Den Helder, I chose this 3-star "Hotel Lands End". The lady at reception was super service-oriented, nice and helpful and I was able to check in earlier. After some searching, I was able to park my car for free at the hotel. I could reach my double room with sea view by elevator and/or stairs. My room has a bath in the bathroom. The room also has access to the balcony, which several rooms open onto. There is a power socket by the bed. they are great beds. There is a safe in the wardrobe. There is a telephone and a Magimix coffee machine on the desk and there are 2 chairs in this room. A fan hangs from the ceiling (remote control). For my lunch and dinner on Monday I went to the restaurant, which can be reached from inside. I was able to charge the lunch and dinner to the room bill. Late in the evening and at night, traffic noise, etc. can be heard. Breakfast on Tuesday morning is also served in this restaurant. I think I would book this hotel again on my next visit to the Dutch Wadden Island of Texel, because that is the underlying reason for being able to take one of the first ferries on Tuesdays at a reduced rate...
Read moreThe hotel appears to have been updated looking at the pictures on Trip Advisor. The view from the sea view side is magical looking towards Texel. Lots of sailing boats, fishing boats and the ferry to Texel to watch. At night it was warm outside. The sea is so close that the waves could be heard going in and out - very relaxing way to go to sleep.||||The hotel staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and updated. Not luxurious but not basic. Perfectly good for a mini break.||||Dinner in the restaurant is really good with a good modern menu. The vegetarian curry was excellent. The restaurant is modern with picture windows for amazing sea views. Also the terrace is fabulous with magical sea views. ||||Breakfast is basic but good enough.||||Great location for the ferry to Texel which is minutes away, the coastal cycle path is on the door step, minutes from the Maritime Museum and a short walk to Den Helder. Free parking at the hotel.||||I thoroughly recommend for a relaxing, calming break and the fabulous sea views. I would definately...
Read moreThe rooms could use some attention to detail, the floor seem unfinished by the walls, the touch of the Nespresso coffee is very good. The rooms overlooking the seafront are superb. Special mention needs to go the reception where Robin made is feel at home with her charm and willingness to help. The same cannot be said for the restaurant where supper was mediocre, upon our arrival no one of the staff acknowledged us and when we asked 2 ladies at the counter for help they moved and continued to browse their mobiles. Despite us waiting some while before finally being lead to a table and we were immediately asked for drinks, the service seems rushed. The food was mediocre with the mixed fish grill being very very dry and almost inedible. The breakfast was poor with rubber eggs and some left over bacon, and the rest of the buffet untidy, unclean and lacking the attention that it required. To the hotel 5 stars the restaurant however no more...
