We placed a large order at IKEA and only received part of it the most expensive and bulky furniture items were simply not delivered. Yet we received a message from IKEA confirming that the entire order was completed.
We contacted customer support immediately and were told they “can’t help” because they are waiting for a response from the transport company. That’s it. No assistance. No solution. Just a cold, robotic “we’re waiting”. Meanwhile, our trip is at risk, our tickets are booked, and we’re stuck with half an order. IKEA refuses to take responsibility, even though we paid in full. Why are we the customers the ones left solving internal IKEA logistics issues? Update. The unpleasant story continues. The service center finally got in touch and informed us that they can only arrange the delivery in a week.
When I explained that I have a flight in three days, and kindly asked for a quicker solution, the answer was firm: No. Only in a week.
Even though the mistake is entirely on their side.
The only alternative they offered was for me to pick up the items myself at the store. The problem? All the missing items are large and heavy: a wardrobe, a table, chairs, and a chest of drawers.
Update 2 We were forced to drive back to the store ourselves to pick up the items that were never delivered. I spent €110 to rent a vehicle to bring everything home.
When I started checking the order, I discovered yet another mistake: instead of one table, there were two, and the most important item — the dresser — was missing completely.
I approached customer service, expecting they would simply give me the dresser, especially since it was in stock, and I even returned the extra table. To my shock, they refused. They said it wasn’t on the order (even though it was paid for!) and offered only one “solution” — to refund the money so I could buy the dresser again. And now I have no idea when, or even if, the refund will...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my experience and, honestly, if I could give a lower rating, I would. I ordered a day bed from this store through the IKEA app, choosing it because it’s the closest to my home. However, when I received the package, I was missing one box. The day bed was supposed to come in three boxes, but I only received two.
I contacted customer service, and while they said they would send another item with the whole 3 boxes, they insisted I keep the two boxes in their original condition and wait another two days for delivery. When the replacement finally arrived, I was told there was an error in the system, and the transport team was instructed to cancel the delivery. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since the item was literally right in front of me but they refused to hand it over. I asked the transporter if I should contact customer service, and they said yes, but they also wouldn’t wait for me to do so.
When I called customer service, I had to go through the whole process again and was told I’d need to wait another week. This whole situation has been an enormous waste of time and incredibly inconvenient. I’m honestly not sure if they even understand the problem, and I have no confidence in how things will be handled moving forward. As of now, I’m still left waiting for another week with no...
