Marenhoeve — Hotel in Houten

I’ve stayed at the Bed & Breakfast Borneman Buitenhof last weekend. I was at the end of a week of work in Holland and I wanted a place where I could rest, relax and recharge my batteries. As soon as Maarten showed me the apartment I knew I’ve made the perfect choice! It was spacious, very well furnish and with a door to a beautiful (and almost private) english garden. The Bed & Breakfast Borneman Buitenhof it’s only 20 min by bike from Utrecht (they also rent you the bike) and it’s surrounded by nature. The breakfast was also very good with fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, bread with ham and cheese and croissant with jam or Hagel Slag. The personal are very discreet but attentive. Maarten and his family are the perfect host, very welcoming and you can feel they do this job with pleasure and they take very well care of the place and it’s guests. Useless to say I’ve already book the same apartment for the end of the summer …. I think it will be the perfect scenery for my 15 years wedding...

What an incredible find just 20min cycle ride from the charming city of Utrecht! Borneman Buitenhof has a real home-away- from-home feel. The apartments are light, airy and absolutely immaculate. The garden and grounds are beautiful and our host, Maarten, went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and that we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious (included in the price) and consisted of fresh bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, yoghurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. This place allows you to relax, unwind and experience the real Netherland. Photos speak for themselves and a camera really doesnot do justice to the beauty of this place. Morning strolls are spectacular, food is satisfying and service is at unheard of levels. I found a freind in Maarten who is a superhost.
