Loonsche Land Hotel — Hotel in Loon op Zand

This hotel is terrible, stayed with my family and two kids, staff would probably be better suited for intake at Alcatraz.. rudest people I have ever met, everything was a problem, started when they overcharged our restaurant bill and we had to remember what the order was and review the system, honest mistake right? isolated incident ? Nope... theres more !! In the morning we were told at breakfast that checkout is 10:30 (website says 11.am) so I said we didn't know, can we have more time to pack our things and head on to the park? suddenly the receptionist becomes hostile and tells us, if we didn't get our things out in 10 minutes they would charge another day or call security!!! I was about to lose my cool at this stage but I was with my 11 year old, so just waited patiently for her to get over herself.. Great way to kick off the day.. later my partner remembered she left her leather jacket in the baggage area and the reception wouldn't help us find it.. (I wouldn't leave anything valuable in this place) ... when we were leaving the park we tried again and asked someone else (probably the only friendly person in the staff) it was in the lost and found the whole time.. not to mention they advertise a Cabin in the woods and it's just a basic room on the 2nd floor of the hotel... I've travelled the world twice and by far this was the worst hotel experience ive ever encountered.. the rest of the park was great !!! @management staff at front desk on 4th August in the am need...

From the outside, the hotel looks magnificient ! Inside, it is not more than an average-looking hotel (like Ibis for example). No particular Efetling theme or decoration. It is just a basic hotel. Corridors are not decorated at all and the rooms are really average though this hotel perfectly does its job for an overnight stay at Efteling. It is clean, calm and close to the park.

The big plus is the breakfast which is really incredible !!! Lots of things and all is delicious !

The bad one is the fact that there are only two slots for breakfast (7:30am and 10am). Who's taking breakfast at 7:30 while the park opens at 10 ? And who's taking breakfast at 10 while the park opens at 10 ??? When we asked the lady at the reception to come anytime, we got a clear NO !

At the end, we went at 8h15 and there was no problem. Plenty of tables available and no crowd at all. Those two slots are more than stupid thing as totally unuseful and non sense.

I put 4 stars as I expected a bit more "Efteling" decoration on the inside, especially in the rooms, corridors...

Very clean and well presented. The bus comes from here to the theme park or its only a beautiful 10 minute walk. Hotel is clean and has everything you need. Spacious, comfortable beds and beautiful views. Breakfast is a mixture of breads, meats, fruit, cereals, pastries as well as fried or scrambled eggs and bacon. Fruit juices and tea and coffee. Small menu for dinner and snacks. You have to. Book a time for all meals. Playground outside for kids. Reasonably large waiting and relaxing areas. Play area inside for kids while you eat. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. It would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities and many a mini fridge? Unless that's an upgrade?? All towels, shampoo and shower gel provided. Shower wasn't very powerful and we kept leaning on tap which turned shower off- it's too close to the shower fall. Other than those little things, can't fault it. Even the air conditioning was very quite. A really lovely...
