My wife and I stayed at Buitengoed de Uylenburg for 5 nights / 6 days and we really loved the location. It is situated just outside Delfgauw following the back road. It is surrounded by beautiful nature and the place is quite big with an adjacent pub and restaurant Cafe du Midi. The B&B is an old farm house which has rooms downstairs and upstairs. We slept in a room adjacent to the reception. The room had a nice size and had an outside patio where we could sit and enjoy the morning or evening. The only few minor issues we had was that the sheets were never changed for clean ones and the bathroom smelled like sewage every evening when we returned to the room after sight-seeing. There was a fridge outside the room which we used to store some beers and Gouda (best cheese ever!). At night we could hear the fridge from the room, so I had to use ear plugs to sleep. Breakfast was included in the price and we enjoyed breakfast every morning. It is your typical Dutch breakfast, bread, eggs, cheese, ham, cereals, croissants and coffee or tea. The breakfast was the same every morning and offered little choice so after 6 days it got a bit boring. You also have to share tables with other guests, which I found awkward as I like to have a quiet breakfast at my own table and talk in privacy to my partner. The coffee maker and the dishwasher used during breakfast were incredibly noisy, which thought were disruptive to the breakfast ritual. Staff was friendly happy to serve their guests. WifI is free but didn't really work and the working WiFi was switched off every evening around 8pm. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I took of one star for the minor issues. This B&B is highly...
Read morePositives: the room was on the small side for a triple, but not bad. It has two twin mattresses together and one off to the side. They were comfortable with nice duvets. The bathroom although small was well appointed and the shower was good. The staff were available if we had questions and breakfast was usual European style. The area is a farm so we all enjoyed the animals and the pretty, rural location. The cafe on the property had great food. ||Negatives: the room was HOT!! No fan. When it finally cooled down enough at night for us to really open the window for a breeze a couple had chosen to sit almost directly below our window to drink a bottle of wine and smoke. As non smokers this was really vexing. The property is huge with lots of places to hang out so why they only went 10 feet from the door was beyond me. Someone below us also smoked and talked very loudly outside his room earlier in the day. We also heard a staff member? yelling and being yelled at? We couldn't understand what was happening but the loud exchange went on for some minutes. This was also in the afternoon. The only slightly negative staff interaction was at breakfast. It was hot and the lady serving and cleaning seem slightly put out to be there. The farm smell could be overwhelming at times. And the bees attacking us at our table during lunch at the cafe was beyond annoying. So I wouldn't go back and would only recommend to friends who like a...
