Waterlinie Lodges — Hotel in Utrecht

Really beautiful lodges in a great location and wonderfully set in wild flower meadows. We really appreciated the efforts to minimise environmental impacts. The online / digital check in and entry etc. were frustrating and rather impersonal - I found it all just a bit too tech-led and would have really valued a personal greeting on arrival. To be honest, it felt like I was expected to do all the work that an owner or host would usually do. Similarly, the downloadable information 'magazine' is very trendy no doubt, but I don't want to be directed to endless Instagrams for basic information (e.g where to eat) and core knowledge that I needed to make the most of my stay (e.g. nearest supermarket, nearest bus stop into the city which were not included). This could be 5 star, but to get that rating from me it would need to be less digital, more personal, and providing information that I could easily access without a device that provided what I really...

This place was wonderful. It sets the standard that I will now compare everywhere I stay to.

Amazing modern lodges in a serene setting, where the hosts thought of everything and were very accommodating and responsive. All of their thoughtful touches to the lodge made staying with young children very easy and comfortable. It's also very close to everything, just a few minutes bike ride into the city or to the grocery store.
