Words cannot describe how amazing and perfect Mt Vernon Lodge was to celebrate our special day. We planned our entire wedding from Australia and had never been to Mt Vernon or seen the property before. David & Amanda were fantastic and very helpful with any of my questions and really made everything super easy.||||If you are planning your wedding here, I definitely suggest you book two days or more we stayed for four nights. It was such a wonderful way to spend time and connect with all of our family & friends before & after the wedding and really made the wedding day itself very relaxed as we didn’t need to rush around trying to catch up to everyone.||||The function area is very large, clean, and well equipped with everything you need. There is also a lovely outside area. They also have great games for everyone to play after the ceremony and a great outdoor area in front of the lodge for drinks and canapes after the ceremony.||||All of our friends and family commented on how great their rooms were, super comfy beds, all were very modern and clean. The lodge area was a great meeting place for everyone, and we had a BBQ for all our family and friends the following day. This area had plenty of fridge space and a very well stocked kitchen you could cater for a lot of people. If you are looking for your Akaroa wedding venue, you’ve just found the perfect spot! We had our wedding at Mt Vernon Lodge and couldn’t have imagined a better venue or team supporting us on the day. The venue is naturally stunning with lots of greenery and flowers growing and the view is breathtaking! Amanda and David were amazing to work with, everything was easy and straight forward, no question went unanswered and they professionally and seamlessly ran the day so well. We are so grateful for them and their team! Every detail was taken care of, which meant we truly could show up and enjoy the day. The set up was what I imagined and more - the beautiful ceremony arrangement, the grazing table and the dinner overlooking the view. The food was delicious and Amanda’s salads lived up to their reputation! We couldn’t recommend the gourmet buffet anymore!! We were surprised by a beautiful printed menu which was a lovely touch. The accomodation being on site meant that our families got to enjoy our wedding bubble with the comfort and joy of having the place to ourselves. We enjoyed playing the lawn games, relaxing by the fire pit at the end of the night, and cooking a family breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen the next morning. We had our wedding at Mt Vernon Lodge over a weekend and had 48 guests stay on site. The facilities were beautiful - clean, warm, modern and well maintained. David and Amanda were so incredibly helpful and thoughtful - they popped back to the bridal suite to clean it up so that we would come back to a clean, tidy room after our reception! As a wedding venue, I couldn’t recommend Mt Vernon Lodge enough! We were able to pay a very reasonable amount to have our whole reception packed up for us so we had very little to worry about, what a relief! The venue included so many beautiful decor pieces, arches, some kitchenware and lots more - free of charge. We were able to create a beautiful reception! David & Amanda had no issue with what we used in the reception room - some venues don’t allow the use of candles but we were luckily able to do so and could do whatever we wanted with the room set up. There was also no end time for the reception so we were able to party into the night as we pleased. David & Amanda responded to all my emails so promptly and kept this nervous bride very calm! They were so awesome and we are over the moon at how our beautiful day/weekend turned out! 100% recommend this beautiful venue and it’s fabulous owners! Thank you guys...
