Don't get me wrong this is a fantastic place to visit, fabulous artworks and awesome photos. However, unfortunately, the one star is purely for the poor customer service at the entrance. We made our visit on 13 Jan, and it was a super hot day with harsh sun, we were trying to find a shady place for my daughter while she waits for her mummy to get EFTPOS card. However, the lady insisted that we need to pay first before we step in. If I don't have kids with me I will just wait, no problem at all. Since I got kids with me, I explained that I was trying to find a shady place for my daughter. However, she answered you can wait here, but NO ENTEY BEFORE YOU PAY FOR IT. At that moment, I can't see or feel any kindness from her, especially for kids, very unprofessional, and this definitely not the KIWI WAY to treat kids, what a shame. With great respect to the owner's artworks, I told myself we are here to enjoy the art, not argument, so I did not argue with her. While we waited at the entrance, I also observed that the lady seems had a bad day, as she appeared in the cold face, no smile and no greetings to other patrons.

I am trying to raise awareness for the management that do not let the bad customer service ruined this remarkable place. Be kind,...

We came across this place 2 years ago but missed it as we thought it was quite pricey but I am so glad that we come here this time with our 2 little ones! It’s well well worth the money and indeed the happiest garden on earth! I still miss the whole experience and time we spent there though the weather wasn’t good when we visited.

The garden is beautifully designed with amazing mosaic arts, together with fruit trees, beautiful beautiful flowers, herbs and all kinds of plants. We admire how beautiful they grow as they are far bigger and better than those in our own garden. We love how the tomato plants are formed as they looked like something you only find from a fairy tale! You can easily spend a few hours there, walking the same place but discovering something you missed before, there are so many details and amazing little things to bring you a smile. We felt happy walking in, even happier when we walked out the garden.

Thank you to Josie Martin and everyone else who created this...

Located approx 90 minutes out of Christchurch, quite windy roads but a nice scenic drive. This place has awesome workmanship which has taken approx 20 years to put together and is still growing. Beautiful architecture, a minutes drive from Central akaroa. No access for wheelchair and baby prams. No parking available at the premises either. You've got to park down on the road and an approx 50 metre walk up a steep driveway will give you access to the site. Absolutely loved every detail of this place however the downfall was wheelchair and baby pram access. The tile floor and steps are extremely slippery too so and very dangerous if your carrying a child. Opens from 11am. Great views from the peak point and you can sit back enjoy the view in a Royale fashion. I would happily visit again but will keep in mind the health and safety regulations regarding how slippery the steps and floors are. Hope these are taken into consideration before any mishaps take place. Lady at the counter was very...

Disclaimer: I didn’t manage to enter the attraction, my review is based on how the lady at the reception had treated my family and I. We reached the venue at about 15 minutes before closing and weren’t allowed entrance even though we offered to pay the full entrance fee and leave when the attraction closed. The lady serving us spoke to us in a very condescending tone and did not have any sympathy even though we told her we had travelled all the way from Christchurch for this attraction and were heading back to our home country the next day. Was really looking forward to this attraction, unfortunately, was utterly disappointed with the customer service. In response to your reply: Please provide me an email address or a phone number I can reach out to to clarify my situation. Thank you.

I was truly captivated by the incredible artistry showcased at the Giant House in Akaroa. The meticulous construction using a myriad of glass and ceramic pieces resulted in a mesmerizing array of sculptures and mosaics that adorned the property. The visual experience was undoubtedly delightful. Yet, I must admit that our overall impression was somewhat tainted by the considerably high entrance fee for the attraction. Regrettably, this feeling was amplified by the fact that visitors were not granted access to the interior of the house, which seemed to fall outside the scope of the attraction. While the artistic exterior was undoubtedly enchanting, the mismatch between the cost and the overall experience was a bit 🤷‍♀️ P.S. we just spent less than 30mins inside.
