Garden City Motel — Hotel in Christchurch

We needed somewhere to stay for a week or so while our dog Cooper who went through treatment at Rangiora Vet Centre. Pet-friendly was first priority. Not only did Maree and Stewart shuffle bookings to ensure an easily accessible room on the ground floor, for our whole stay, but they made us all feel welcome during what was a hard time - especially for Cooper.|The motel is everything you read in the owners description, but I’ll also highlight the easy access to the Motorway (and Rangiora Vet Centre) as well as Northwood and Northland malls with New World, Countdown and any other shops you might want. Also, Costas Greek Taverna is a 10 minute walk, and the food is excellent.|The setting is relaxing, with plantings in front of the rooms. Our room is spacious, and so clean, you wouldn’t know it was pet friendly. A heat pump provides cooling and heating, but wasn’t really needed during the summer.|The room is so tidy, and has everything you need - and it all works!|Best of all, the beds are so comfortable I tracked down the manufacturer and ordered one for my own bedroom.|We book ahead to be sure to have our usual room each time we are back for follow up treatment - it’s reassuring to know our room will be there with everything we need, just as we like it. |I will come back here whenever I need to stay in...

The service was impeccable, and the rooms were exceptionally clean with comfortable beds. I was pleased to find out that they allowed me to bring my small elderly dog along with me. However, there were a couple of minor issues that could be improved upon. Firstly, the fridge in the room was quite loud, which was a bit of a nuisance when trying to sleep.
