Very strange place showers old dated funny people running around camp dealing drugs place floods run down some woman and young guy charging around on a motorozed cart with loud noise like grumpy stiltskins giving nasty looks like starzie police threatning kicking guests out left right and centre some creepy men there also one at entrance way has done lots of lags in jail is aggressive and another creepy dude doing gardening had axe holes in his caravan from domestic with his x partner. Oh yeah a guy there dealing drugs out of the camp to other campers and out the front gate to strangers pulling up and coming and going.. also owners having some links to gangs and using a big dog to scare and intimidating guests or long stayers witnessed one man being on drugs having episode and being trespassed and removed by police.another couple had domesticthey left in middle of night dumping suitcase of corner of street.oh theres also a guy working there that robbed a dairy with an axe for money and cigarettes would absolutely not recommend this place not safe for children very wet very damp floods and staff very very unfriendly clicky little group of people within the camp making issues with each other drinking and doing drugs a very very dangerous place ..not sure I can say there was anything good ..oh kids play ground nice my kids loved but essentially we felt very unsafe...

28/4/22 - having been a regular visitor in the past few years, several times a year, things have changed since my last review. The admin side has deteriorated to such an extent that I have received no response from 2 emails sent in March and April of this year. Made a phone request on Sunday for this week for 4 nights to be quoted $34 a night. Single person price. Doubles are quoted $36 which equates to 18 a person so a big difference for 1 person. Therefore email sent cancelling my request. Again no response. Today received an email , full of errors, which said my booking from feb 2019 to Saturday 30 April this year had been cancelled - also it said: Rooms 4 x powered site, gave a reference number, which I certainly wasnt given and source was website booking. What the email refers to is beyond me. I certainly havent been checked in since Feb 7 2019. Stayed 11 nights Jan/Feb of this year price given was $82.50 - which was most generous. I queried this amount but accepted the offer. Previous review of a year ago. It has become a regular escape. Estuary, beach, New Brighton town. Bus stop outside. Always feel welcome. Bookings, should guarantee you a spot as they have had the luxury of turning people away. I would imagine with the hot pools now open on the beach, bookings will be essential. Good size kitchen. Great little...

Doesnt even deserve one star....Never recieved any confirmation of stay absouloutely nothing so assumed that the booking hadnt gone through so left at is that. We never went to chch or stayed and assumed the booking was never complete because of no invoice or confirmation. The full amount was taken from my bank account the day or arrival depite terms and conditons saying payment was due on arrival. I got a shock to see this deducted from my account as far I was knew this booking was not confirmed. I emailed the camp twice the day i realised this with no reply. Later that evening I recieved a text to wich iI also replied to saying we were not coming due to a family incident and no confimation of stay. The next morning I got a cery aggressive phone call from the lady in the office asking where we were, she cut me off mutiple times was extremely rude and had no compassion of the death in my family, she was also screaming down the phone at someone in the back ground (maybe kids, telling them to get out) and then asked me if I had finished???? This lady lacks customer service and was so awful to deal with. We had always planned on going back in easter but after that we will never support her bussiness. Be aware she sound liks a...

Our first paid campground in our South Island trip and we loved it! Yes its pretty dated and there are some permanent residents there which is fine and normal for majority of paid campgrounds, but the park like setting, the friendly staff and cleanliness makes up for it 😁 not to mention the shower pressure which is heaven! 😂 we stayed here on peak season and it doesnt even feel busy. Theres a bus stop just outside which takes you to the city center, lots of walks and paths all over the place that takes you around the estuary with stunning views of the mountains and the sea. Price wise is reasonable considering the season, wifi is free for 20 users within your campsite which is great but the signal is a bit temperemental. Overall we're glad that we checked into this one! ✌️😁

What an amazing find! I was searching to see if there was a place in Christchurch for under $50 for an optional Friday night extension to an already-planned weekend stay. The cabin for $48 was incredible value for money and I had a lovely sleep. The greeting at the office was very convivial and details of how to access through the gate later that night explained. Sounds like a few people have had "experiences" before so take notice of those red flashing lights. The shower block was quite old-school in its build, but plenty of hot water for my early morning departure. Saturday morning has a great market in New Brighton. So pleased that I've stumbled upon this place, and I will most certainly be returning.

We stayed 2 nights over Easter. We enjoyed our stay From the moment we arrived we were very welcomed the lovely girl at reception was very friendly and helpful when checking in. As we were travelling in a motor home I asked about the local buses she gave me a detailed timetable and highlighted the correct bus etc to get into Christchurch and ideas on things to do. Plus gave us 2 Easter eggs 😊 Its a small park but has everything you need great camp kitchen. Amenities were clean with hot showers. Nice walk out to board walk overlooking the bay. The bus into Christchurch was $4 cash and takes about 45min. With a regular service. Highly recommend if you want somewhere quiet and relaxing.
