Monarch Motel 2025 — Hotel in Invercargill City

Monarch Motel is well situated in Invercargill, access is from the SH and also a side street. I had an urgent unexpected trip to the city because a family member was hospitalised and Monarch stood out as being convenient and a very fair cost. On arrival, I was immediately told an upgrade would be granted at no additional cost, and my explanation that I really had no idea of a definite departure date was accepted very readily, with payment on the spot not required.||||Motel itself was spotless, rooms are serviced daily. Friendly service but firstly disappointed as had booked as motel states access to spa bath, suana and ice bath, which upon wanting to access was unavailable for timeframe we visited! The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbours answering/talking on their phone's, not cool when trying to sleep. Very basic rooms, comfortable but beds to hard for me and only one couch that was old, not easy to relax in if you not family, which we were co workers. Well kept with changing of towells etc, was close to the Ilt stadium that our conference was at, positives. Overall abit disappointed...

I've given all 5 stars because it met my expectations for a motel. We arrived late and the owners kindly left our door open which was convenient to us. Room and facilities were clean and comfortable. Handy location for Invercargill airport the following morning. Exactly what you would want and expect a motel to be.
