I booked this property over the phone after talking to two different people and getting two different prices. I wanted to book in person to avoid them paying booking fees and we agreed on a price for one night. When I arrived, the man at the reception was lovely, but had booked me in for 2 nights and said I owed $600. We were sorting out the miscommunication, when his wife came in the room and started abusing me, and yelling at me. I was in absolute shock and I burst into tears to which she yelled more âI didnât mean to upset youâ followed by â I donât care about your problems â she told me she wasnât going to waive the booking fee after her husband had already said he was going to, and I had then booked through booking.com and then she said she wasnât going to charge me twice
I honestly couldnât believe what had happened and she completely ruined my weekend away with my family for my daughterâs birthday. I wouldnât have stayed here at all if I could have got out of it but I felt pushed into a corner as they already had my card details and the threats were coming.
On check out, we returned the key and the husband who worked there was apologising, and saying that heâs really sorry but his wife drinks too much sometimes. This is not an acceptable excuse and I donât believe this lady deserves this job where she can make people feel as awful as she...

We would have preferred to have known this in advance so we had the choice to book elsewhere, rather than show up and see a kid walking round with a tyre iron hitting things. It was not an assumption on our behalf that the residents were Emergency Housing clients, as we asked and it was confirmed by the owner. We didn't appreciate our credit card being charged prior to our arrival as we had specifically sent a message saying we would use a different card when we got there. This message was ignored. The room was nice, good amenities and lovely decor. However, not impressed and not likely to...

She helped me figure out the laundry, and when two lost socks (wool, very expensive) eventually returned to the laundry room after I had departed, she mailed them to my final destination in Auckland for me. The Motor Lodge is one level, and mostly we were able to park right at our door. The room was clean, the twin beds a wee bit âcloseâ together, the kitchenette was small and the bathroom was massive. Not a walkable neighbourhood, but a quick drive into town or to the...
