We came here for dinner after a long looooong hike up the maunga. We ordered food and got our plates 40 minutes later. Definitely not the right place if you are starving lol. Seriously, I was dead and didn’t mind the wait. There was an event at the war which delayed many orders. The girl that served us was very gentle and I saw how stressful was for her the whole situation, dealing with pretty angry-hungry customers. She was a star! I loved the food very much! A massive steak with veggies and smash potatoes. The he pork belly was also really good. Might be a Taranaki thing cause all pork belly’s I tried in this area were amazing! Anyway, i finished satisfied with everything I needed after such demanding hike. Thank you heaps

Good location to explore New Plymouth, Stratford and Mt Egmont (Mt Taranaki). Also a great place to stay during Americarna, a very popular annual event. The restaurant and pub meals are tasty and affordable and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I stayed at the lodge a few months ago. The en-suite room was spacious and there was a dining/kitchen area for guests. I am now a local and love living in Inglewood.

So not the best. $167.80, and 2 meals did not arrive and instead given as takeaway. (the point of eating out with the family is to eat with the family). And this was the meal I ended up with. Hmmm, hard to support local isn't it. Sadly won't be back just too many problems. Would suggest thinking twice.

There for a fund raiser quiz for the crazy cats at the Inglewood volunteer fire brigade who are doing the Sky Tower challenge next weekend raising money for leukemia and blood cancer NZ, this was an event which took place in one of the back rooms.. good facilities in place, and staff were, as always, friendly and helpful, making sure glasses were cleared away quickly and any food orders made it to the right places. Never had to wait for service when ordering drinks at the bar that side of the building, despite what sounded like a very busy Saturday night in the main bar!! Those who ordered food, rather than snacks, were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food, the snacks just as good, and a great venue experience for a good night out.. the Fern Lodge had even been so kind as to donate some prizes for the quiz, supporting local volunteers raising money for a good cause.. this is now a regular haunt for a great Sunday roast at a good price too, definitely give it a try sometime and see what you think. Thanks all for another...

Was a last minute booking for us. Staff are very freindly and very accomodating. However, we dined at the restaurant where we waited 40 minutes to receive near cold meals. If you are looking for a peaceful stay then this place is definitely not that type.We had about 3 hours sleep total due to the room walls being thin and hearing our neighbours tv,door slamming and snoring.Room was located beside the main door where everyone entering and exiting slammed this and the traffic noise was very loud and nonstop.Key card didnt work on a couple of occasions having to go down to reception to get this sorted to get back into our room.Wouldnt stay here or dine here again but would like to point out that the staff are very friendly...
