Great value well kept motel. Good location as you come into Wanganui. What makes this place is the genuine Kiwi hospitality. Steve greets you with a warm smile and welcoming tone so we decided to stay the night here rather than at the local motor camp. The unit for us two you’ll see in the photos was spacious, clean with fully equipped kitchenette including 2 cooking elements and Russell Hobbs mini oven. Fridge with small freeze compartment cannot hold anything wider than 4x4ā€. Nice touches in the bathroom with foaming body wash dispenser, and handwashing dispenser over the vanity. The bathroom has a built in heat light for cooler nights. Nice strong water pressure for a shower. All units are wheelchair accessible. Our upstairs unit had its own balcony with walk up ramp for easy access. Parking by the ramp (each unit park is numbered. Continental breakfast is an extra charge but teas and coffee are complimentary. There’s an iron and stand and hangers in a closet. Electric fan but in February we just open the slider for a nice breeze. Wall heater for cooler nights. Quiet despite being on a major road just occasional loud trucks not constant. Comfortable beds. Steve provides fresh milk for your drinks and happy to answer questions about activities etc. complimentary WiFi.

This place needs a good clean. Certainly, it is outdated.

My family of four adults stay there for a few nights (no other options) and were not impressed. Good points: Cleanliness of room - 5 (we could not fault the room, the layout, the ample space and blankets). A adequate shower. Ample parking

Not good point: Friendliness of staff - 1 inadequate supplies of toiletries - 0 (none supplied apart from basic hand was foam and the same foam in the shower) No complementary shampoo/conditioner/soap bars as one has come to expect in a well run establishment. Adequate supplies of tea/coffee/milk - 0 (for four adults no offer was made to supply more and a begrudging effort was made to provide more when asked). We would not recommend this...

Shelly and Steve run a very nice motel. We were able to book our room the day before, as it was conveniently close to the hospital.

The room was clean, pleasantly decorated, and had all the amenities I could need. Newer carpets, a good breeze through the window, and convenience make this one of the nicer motels I've stayed in. You aren't paying for a luxury bed or a bath at some shmancy hotel, this is (in my opinion) a 5 star motel as they go above and beyond what is expected and seem to be very kind people. The price is reasonable for what is offered and fair as it is.

I'll definitely be recommending it when people...
